Decided for shits and grins to go back and review my build costs in the B&P after Ford made the recent changes. The builds I've been comparing have been the following:

- WildTrak
- Badlands squatched
- Badlands non-squatched with upgraded wheels and 33" AT BFG's
- OBX squatched

all are optioned similarly with lux package, aux switches and MIC tops.

With the badlands increasing in price by $1,595 for the 10 spd. auto, it is interestingly now showing the following price differentials to the WildTrak:

- Badlands squatched +$1,970
- Badlands non-squatched. +$470
- OBX squatched +$550

The auto swaybar disco isn't worth $1,970
And for $470 less, I'll take the full squatch of the WT
And if the OBX was $550 less, I might be tempted, but definitely not paying $550 more.

WildTrak it is...assuming the costs in the B&P hold up.

Interestingly, I had the same analysis re: the non-Squatch Badlands (which had been my previous choice) and the Wildtrack. Given the pricing differences you mention, and the fact that I am now allowed to order the hard top sound insulation, I also am moving over to the Wildtrack.

EDIT: It also allows for the inclusion of a pretty nice looking step on my order as well apparently (which is necessary, given the vertically-challenged folks who live in my house with me).

Hmmm, so I'm not alone! I am stuck on Interior. I am ok with the two tone dash and seats of the WT, but I sure like the Marine Grade Vinyl.

Wildtrak was what I initially wanted and I would switch back in a heartbeat if they fixed the interior and added MGV, same goes for OBX. After seeing/feeling how nice the MGV in person I’m set on it.

@Administrator - thanks for moving my thread to General Bronco Topics. But can you delete the term Build Journals from the forum with pictures and videos, if you don't want people discussing their builds there?

Thanks

Think anyone considering a squatch-Badlands and a Wildtrak ends up in the same boat of "man if the WT interior didn't suck"

That's more for owners to document their rig builds once they've taken delivery next year.

My analysis is similar, however I’m also including the floor liners on the Wildtrak for comparison. It all comes down to if I think I can be fine with the Wildtrak interior, bronze dash and camo seats. The jury is still out on it, though my wife said she can live with it. It’s the same thing we’ve all been saying since July, wish the MGV was a Wildtrak option!

So the disconnect probably really does cost that much, it is a matter if you want it or not. Did you add the bumpers rock rails and bash plates to the Wildtrack? Those are another difference ...

Yes, all are optioned with the modular bumper, bash plates, etc. The auto sway bar disco, isn't worth $2 grand to me.

It has a tan dash. OBX has bronze.

. Dont forget the BL has a steel bumpers and bash plates included. It's a $825 option on the wildtrak (and OBX)

You need to make sure you match all features So its really apples to apples.

I have been doing the exact same thing and my pricing is very close Between the 3.

OB / BL / WT. 2 door

All have
2.7
10 speed auto
sasquach
MIC top
Advanced 4x4
High package
Heavy Duty Bumper
Bash plates
Aux Switches
floor mats

Note: must add those to get to similar specs Due to each having different standard items.

OBX - $50610
Badlands: $52525
Wildtracks: $50755

Differences
OBX: cloth seats, carpeted floor
Badlands: Marine Vinyl, rubber floor with drains, disco bar, rear steel bumper and (possibly rock rails unclear)
Wildtracks: cloth seats, carpeted floor

So badlands is a little under $2k with similar available specs more BUT has the disconnect bar, MGV and the washout floor. Those are probably worth 2k to me. Honestly dont really care about the disconnect for my uses but like the MGV and rubber floor. Also probably like interior color more in badlands.

Also I will probably not squach mine so it would be $50030 for badlands with above specs minus sas.

I’ve been on team WT for awhile...
It’s funny how it’s looking to be good value after the price changes were done...

I know I’m in the minority but I like the interior of the WT...

Your analysis is correct. That price difference is worth it to me though for the following reasons:

- Can’t stand the regular plastic rear bumper on the WT
- Can’t stand the interior color scheme on the WT
- Prefer MGV over cloth and leather

My badlands price will be even higher because I’ll be opting for shadow black mod top ?
