But you do appear to like the Detroit trutrac mentioned so guess you'd agree that could be a viable option for some
The gear driven True Trac LSD is a great option, because they don't wear out.
It's superior to the cheaper clutch LSDs used in the current Jeep Wranglers.
Those usually only last <30,000 even lightly used. some hard core 4x4ers have burned them out in under 3,000 miles.

For people driving mostly in snow, mud, dirt/ gravel, the True Trac LSD is the better choice over a Locker.
Mechanical, fully locked Lockers only rule the day on the most challenging trails and obstacles.

Auto Lunch Box ( Aussie, Lock Rite) and Detroit Lockers will void your factory warranty.
This is because they unlock via ratcheting.
Start to roll back and hit the throttle, and the auto locker will slam from fully open to fully locked in a micro second under full engine torque.
Axels, U-joints and driveshafts go boom.
Ford's warranty department won't want to know you after that.

Auto lockers are great for drag racing though.

As I understand it, there is no limited slip differential in the Bronco.

But what you are talking about with selectively applied braking to improve traction is essentially the traction control system, and this the Bronco has.

We know the GOAT modes affect traction control - I believe Levine mentioned the Baja mode allows for more slippage in sand, for example.

We also know that you can disable traction control via the hero switch on the dash.

And of course, if you get the upgraded system you get Auto 4WD, which automatically engaged the front wheels if it detects the rear is losing traction.
