Sorry if this has been posted previously.

The non-hybrid Warthog is expected to be powered by the more potent version of Ford’s twin-turbo 3.0L EcoBoost V6 currently found in the Ford Explorer ST and Lincoln Aviator. In that guise, it is rated to produce 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque.

Meanwhile, the hybrid Warthog is expected to be powered by the same 3.0L EcoBoost V6 and electric motor combination present in the Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring, which produces 494 horsepower and 630 pound-feet of torque. Both power plants will be mated to Ford’s 10-speed automatic transmission.

The Bronco Warthog Hybrid could be Ford’s response to the recently revealed Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392, which produces 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque from its 6.4-liter V8,

WOW! REALLY!?!?!?!

Man I hope that is so. Nearly 500HP would certainly make this a beast.

I will be very surprised to see a hybrid variant in the WH. The vehicle is designed for high speed off roading and jumping. The added weight of the hybrid system would be a huge handicap. More likely to see a future hybrid in the non-WH Bronco.

Then they‘ll lose their minds when the next gen Bronco comes out. I think there is a very good chance all Broncos will be EVs at that time.

Ford will release a bronco hybrid or EV before they release hybrid warthog, but it's good to see that they are planning ahead

I kind of hope Ford doesn’t produce a hybrid Warthog, but instead creates an EV and a regular Bronco Hybrid to cover more bases.

I very much doubt there will be a plug in EV Bronco that follows the 6G platform..EV have a skateboard battery layout..not compatible at all. The BabyBronco maybe..

plus I hope you don’t want to do any creek and river crossings in a plug in EV

cracks me up..you have people on this forums worried about getting electronics wet when you spray out a badlands...and then a day later posting to have an EV Bronco..:ROFLMAO:

I think you might See a hybrid Bronco in 3-5 years

I know a guy who is a tech in a Chevy dealership. With over 10 years experience on the road Chevy has a lot of good data about how their Volt PHEV is being used.

The data shows that most are driven all electric between 90 and 95% of their accumulated miles.
They are getting cars in with 100k miles with only 5000 miles on the ICE.

The volt gets about 35miles all electric with a 17 kwh battery.
I think people are getting 20ish with their Wrangler 4xe in electric.

So the beauty of a PHEV is you get 95% of the benefits of all electric, with a battery that is 1/5th the size. AND you can drive it on a long trip without having to wait for it to charge.

Think about it. The PHEV isn't a compromise. Rather its the best of all worlds. BEV torque, economy and greenness. ICE range and convenience. Acceleration comparable to a V8.

Also, the production of lithium batteries is a miserable, filthy process. Some components are literally mined by slaves. If you can get 90% electric use with a battery that is only 1/5th the size. Its got to be the most "clean" choice. Cleaner than even a BEV.

I'm also of the opinion that people do "heroic" things like buy a BEV are often doing it as virtue signaling. Its not about how clean it actually is. Its about how its perceived.

A BEV Bronco or Jeep will appeal to 3 groups.
1) hard core rock crawlers. 100% torque at 0 rpm is hard to argue with.
2) eco weenies who want to virtue signal.
3) people who like new tech.

For most of us a PHEV is really the best choice.
