Fair point. I do think Wranglers are nice, I have always liked mine. I think the discount reflects the tough year and maybe, the looming competition.

Dollar for dollar, I will grant you, Wrangler might be the winner right now. I don't think that is indicative of Ford's pricing though.

I am glad I can afford the Bronco, hopefully it will be what I hoped for. With any luck, I will know this summer!

For me the Badlands I have spec'd is beyond what I was looking to spend but I was willing to go there for the prize. If the price creeps up more for whatever reason I will likely resort to plan B, the lowest mile FZJ80 I can find. Looking today I am about half the cost. Not the same truck as I will miss out on some modern tech but will have a full capable and reliable truck that can easily last me a decade or so.

Ford has pushed the price up so much, it is now competing in a different class of vehicles.

For my intended use, I can get a lot more for $50,000. I am probably out.

This is exactly where I am. I was initially at $40k for 4Runner and now I sit at almost $50k for a Bronco. This is starting to hit luxury crossover territory or lightly used GX460 which is ALOT nicer than Bronco and will last longer. With each kick in the nuts Ford is making this more and more difficult to justify.

That's correct. Once you sign everything and place your order it's a binding contract and you're locked into the price. Now parts availability and other things can happen along the way but if Ford decides to have another increase you're safe.

Just like buying a house once you agree on a price and sign the papers the owner can't raise the price because the house down the street sold for more. And you can't ask for a lower price (or back out) because of financial reasons.
