When a side job takes on a life of its own...Is this serious? Because if it is I'll match the offer for when mine comes down the line.
Uh oh, you just revealed yourself. ?
Now we’re all going to be expecting you to give us some insider details.
I’ll go first. What are you guys up to right now at MAP?
So do you think Ford will set up a program to where you might be able to watch your Bronco being built? Similar to the way GM does with the corvette. I live in southeast Michigan so it would be cool to be able to visit the plant the day my Bronco gets built.
What do you guys think?
Which dept are you in? Expedition bodyshop here.I'm a nobody. I find out more stuff here then I see in the plant. There are fliers posted all over about no pictures yet I see pictures from inside the plant on this site. When the first Bronco body was brought into the plant there was a Mach E with it. Pictures were taken and phones were confiscated and people were almost fired.
Do they offer tours in general???I'm a nobody. I find out more stuff here then I see in the plant. I doubt it. But maybe more like Jeep. When I got my '13 Grand Cherokee, you could follow progress via a tracker, but no photos/videos. Just a black ink on a white screen as to where things were. Then when it shipped, you could follow that progress. So do you think Ford will set up a program to where you might be able to watch your Bronco being built? I toured Michigan Truck Plant in 98 or 99 with an Expedition owners group to watch Expeditions and Navigators roll down the line.Do they offer tours in general???
Do they offer tours in general???
I know Subaru does in Lafayette, In ....as I recall only on Fridays. first thing in the AM, kids gotta be like 16 minimum.
Honda plant in So. In does too.
I know the delivery thing has to be paid no matter what, but a "delivered at the plant" option would be cool as fudge....just sayin'.
The above qoute reminds me of my time in the Marines, doing testing at White Sands Missile Range, CONSTANT reminders to not talk about our work here at all ...zero nada zilch .....
Picked up a shitty little newspaper from the the shitty little town and there's a picture of our gear right on the front page, headline:
******* MISSILE SYSTEM IN TOWN FOR TESTING...
all kinds of information that I know for a fact was classified right there in the article....massive WTF moment.
Toolmaker in the BodyshopWhich dept are you in? Expedition bodyshop here.
There is a tour open to the public at the F 150 plant in Dearborn Mi. I have not taken it but people that have liked it. Had the same think happen in Korea. Got our orders in the middle of the night, drove for 3 hours and when we got to our hill, mamasan had her tent set up and breakfast was ready.Do they offer tours in general???

How do you like the new Mid-Engine vette? and the 19 Z06? I am really toying with the idea of the 2022.Corvette has a couple decades now of doing tours, with a dedicated escort, and a highly controlled flow path through the plant. Such tours are pretty easily done without prohibitive liability concerns.
In 2007, the cost for the Corvette museum delivery package (the National Corvette Museum is directly across the street; they perform the PDI and make a big deal out of the "presentation" of your new Corvette) was $495, and was well worth it. Somewhere over the last decade the price made a huge jump, so we took a pass when we purchased our 2019 Z06.
