Hey everyone! More out of curiosity than anything else, I was wondering if anyone else was using this opportunity to dive head first into a standard transmission with their truck. I've only ever owned one vehicle, plan on this buy being the last one I make... And if by chance I do get another car later, the chance at a manual transmission might be gone then.
So for all of you, fellow B6G community... Are manuals the only kind you get? Are you only considering the automatic due to lack of experience or to fit with your desired package? Will the decision adjust based on if your truck is a daily or a weekend warrior? Can't wait to see what folks are thinking/planning!

Nope. I prefer shifting my own gears. My 2004 RX8 is a 6 speed manual. Also had a 2001 Mini Cooper with a 5 speed, a 1994 Ranger manual, and a 1967 Cougar manual. Of course my 2001 Triumph Bonneville motorcycle is manual. Learned how to drive manuals from my dad with his 80's something GMC Jimmy van with 3 on the tree and my mom's 78 MGB.

My current Tacoma is a manual and I daily it through Southern California parking lots (freeways). If I can, I buy manual transmission vehicles because it's just what I like to drive. Keeps me engaged as I crawl at a snail's pace every morning at 5am. The crawler gear was made for our freeways

Not getting a manual but it would be my fourth car or truck with one. All of my motorcycles were/are manual. I do enjoy manuals, but I donā€™t see the point in a truck unless itā€™s your only vehicle. Sports cars are one thing. Trucks are another. Iā€™m looking forward to the auto for the ease of city driving and traffic.

I learned to drive with a 1983 Ford Ranger 4 speed. About half the vehicles I drove in the Army were sticks. After busting up my knees in the Army, that put an end to my manual transmission driving.

My first one, personally. I drive my dads ā€˜17 Mustang GT all the time. A manual is just a unique experience. You feel more connected to the vehicle.

Why are so many people saying this Bronco will be the last car they buy? Is everyone near death or something? I expect to buy at least 10 more cars before I die lol. Maybe 20.

Totally with you. Been manual only for about 30 years with one brief dalliance with an auto. I hated it. I think I managed to keep it for almost 2 years before it had to go. What a miserable experience.

I was absolutely thrilled that the Bronco was going to offer it. I had basically conceded the Cybertruck as my next vehicle... then Ford came through. One last hoorah before the world forces me to retire my manual buying days.

EDIT: It's a little funny, strolling down memory lane here... remembering when I learned to drive a stick. It was my uncle's '87 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe. The irony? It was a 2.3L turbocharged Ford. So I guess I've come full circle. Of course, the EcoBoost has a bit more power :)

By the way, when did EB = Early Bronco. Does that predate the EcoBoost line of engines? Because EB in the automotive world has always been EcoBoost. Just wondering if this is a recent hijacking by the Bronco community.

This is a great question, I can't speak for the others but I've got a wife and three kiddos... I'd rather get a fun vehicle and then throw money at family stuff instead of consistently trying to get new cars. That's just me though!

The ā€˜84 F250, which was my first vehicle, had a 4-sp manual with a granny gear. Much like I suspect the creeper gear will perform, you could release the clutch with no gas pedal at all.

Out of the 7 vehicles I've owned, only 1 was an automatic and I'll never get another one.
