OHHH, now it makes sense. I understand why this would be a thing to vent some hot air out (and avoid it getting caught on the seals when opening), but I would hate it when it's raining out because water would dump in when you're trying to get in the car, especially without rain channels.
In the Bronco as well as with any vehicle I've seen with said "nudge" it doesn't open far enough for venting nor rain intrusion. Good basic seal design.

Oh, and for clarity I am the OP 😉.

I just got this update. I feel so much more stable now. No idea what it fixed. Wish they would divulge this info. My guess is by some law they have to announce an update. But not the specifics. Again I can only assume it’s to gather info for for Ford or someone else.
The link in post #2 provides all sorts of unclear, word salad from Ford ax to why they had to remove the nudge.

Thanks,

Thanks!!! Worked first try!!!
No problem - it freaked me out the first time it happened, but I found that walk-through and (knock on wood), it's worked every time to reset them, so when it happens, I just run through the steps and it's good.
Now, should we have to do that? No, but is what it is I guess....if that's the worst, I think we're doing ok.

The windows still do nudge upon door opening but they do not seem to do it fast enough to stop the window from flapping.

As pointed out above the work around is to simultaneously hold the door closed with your thumb while activating the handle. Or just enjoy your "flappy" windows.

I'm curious if anyone else feels there has been a speed up of the nudge when opening the doors? I *think* the flappy has been reduced a bit.
Yeah, I usually hesitate slightly to give the window time to drop before pulling.

So dumb by Ford. I always used tge fob before opening the door to make sure the window opened a bit.
Same. I noticed it first thing after the update and immediately tried to send feedback to Ford (which of course is obtusely difficult). Super obnoxious.

Mine works same as day 1. Never nudges down on key fob unlock. I’m good with the way it is.
Well.. fine. But also you’re missing out on a great feature. Though I guess it’s now gone, so maybe yours is the healthier outlook 🤷‍♂️

Ford doesn’t like customer feedback . Too much of an opportunity to get good ideas and please customers.

Ugh. It was a great feature, but somehow Ford thought it should go.

As others have noted it's a bit crazy that windows didn't take software.

The windows still do nudge down when opening ones doors. However, they no longer nudge when unlocking with the fob. They may have sped up the nudge but that's very difficult for me to discern.

Here is the corresponding dialog:

My 4 Door just downloaded and update and now with Max A/C and Recirc the front vents shut off. Anyone else with this issue? If I turn off recirc then front vents open and Max AC turns off. my two door bronco, which I haven’t installed the update on (disabled updates), when on Max A/C with Recirc, blows through the front vents as it should. I’m wondering if it’s just that the uodate reset something. I just reset the Sync as well and that didn’t fix it. The update is def causing the front vents to close behind the dash when on Max A/C

OH MY GOD…

THIS is INFURIATING.

I have two children who INSIST on opening the doors like absolute animals and they wobble like those inflatable stick men at the car dealerships.

Ihave become Johnny Lightning on the unlock button to keep the windows from flopping around and suddenly, today, it wasn’t working…

What….., The…… F……. Ford????????????!

oh…. I’m writing emails, notes, etc…..,

this is INTOLERABLE.

Ford is gonna land me in jail for bustin my foot off in a kids butthole….

After the update today my passenger side window wont close properly. As soon as the window reaches the top it automatically comes all the way down.

i am turning off automatic updates once this issue is fixed

THIS!!! This is why it was a great feature. Now if only I could teach the short one to pull the handle OUT instead of DOWN!

I was also disappointed to see this disappear. I was just getting in the habit of pressing the unlock specifically to get my window to drop so my door would open smoothly.

Dear Ford, Can I have it back please?
