Window Switches - Should they be Switched

I put a clear cabinet stick on door stop on each of the front window switches. That way at least they feed different. Not my ideal but does help.

It’s a new learning process I guess, but I’m with you. I think they’re backwards. I always thought that the most important movement should be closest to your hand. Say a light switch in a dark bedroom, it has 1,2,3, even 4 switch box. I went though my home and lined them all up to importance. I reach my hand in a dark room I want the main light on the first switch that my hand comes to, second light the next light (accent light), fan light is next and fan speed last. I know, I know, it’s stupid. Those are in order of how often I use the functions in that box. Looking down on the window switch it’s correct but if my hand is coming down on the switch it’s backwards. First two should be driver and passenger and the next least used, should be below that. Lol
It’s just my dumb ADHA I guess. lol.

The switches should use a normal setup in all the doors instead of the center console.

Ford really saved a lot by eliminating the extra switches a normal setup uses. Great job ford.

I think they did not want two sets of switches, added electrical wiring and potential for interfering with each other. Do agree that an option to reverse switches would be good. It seems intuitive to use the first 2 buttons (lower set) for front windows. Probably need to cut to fix as usually modules !

I've put a decent amount of ass time in the seat of the Bronco and I have to say, I am still lowering the rear window most of the time before I realize I have my finger on the wrong button, and have to raise up the rear window and then lower the driver window - and yes I go through Dunkin Drive Through way too much.
And yes 2 door crowd, I know what you are going to say.

So I'm wondering, has anyone flipped the switches to put the front windows on top and the back windows on the bottom?

And am I the only one who's brain refuses to get on bord with the switch positioning?

I think if you did a survey you would find that most of us have opened rear windows by mistake when intending to open fronts. lol

I've been saying that all along the switches should be switched. I make the mistake every time.

My issue was not remembering which pair controlled which windows, but rather both pair of switches FELT the same.

Ergo, the stick-on bumpers worked the trick. Totally effective, cheap, removable, available in different colors, shapes, and sizes, yada, yada. Works for me

I wish Ford had provided a tactile difference between the front and rear window switches for the driver. Like maybe use the switches with the rounded-ridged ends for the front, and the smooth for the rear. I understand why they didn't - cost and assembly complexity - but it would have been helpful.

When I operate them, I have to feel both sets by "braille" and then use the desired controls. If I just rest my forearm on the console and hit the switches, I get the rear ones every time so that isn't helpul.

I can't remember the last time I DIDN'T feel the switches and their relative positions on any car of mine in order to choose the correct switch. It takes about half a second.

If it's really bothersome, why not just re-pin the connector? It would take about 2 minutes once you know which wire is which.

Do you mean we should not modify our Broncos differently than how our manufacturer, in their wisdom, has provisioned them? Good to know.
