Windrock weekend excursion with Blue Ridge Broncos

What a great time with some great people!
Excellent planning, prep, trail leading, and laid back atmosphere.
I went with the intermediate group, doing several of the dozens of trails out there, will definitely go back again to see some of the ones we didn’t do.
The “most difficult” one we did was trail 22, and even that wasn’t bad.
Great job BRB leaders, you guys have built a great program over the past couple of years since our first ride up Hurricane Creek in 2022.

Many thanks for those kind words… We’re just a few Bronco enthusiasts that use the Bronco the way Ford intended for it to be used! The last two years have been a whirlwind! Our group has grown in number but most importantly our members have become a FAMILY (even though dysfunctional at times ). We hope it continues to grow!
Blue Ridge Broncos has never been and never will be “My” Bronco club… if you’re a member, it’s OUR Bronco club!
We’re on Instagram as blue.ridge.broncos and on Facebook as well. You DON’T have to live in the Blue Ridge Mtns to become a member… you just gotta love good friends, great times, and most importantly Ford Broncos!

Last two vacations have been in/around the Blue Ridge region.
I'm starting to really fall in love with that place!

Some of those pics are stunning!!!

I'm starting to think my State lied with that marketing slogan, "There's more than corn in Indiana!" ..... uhmmm, yeah, not really.

I keep fighting this urge to move to the Southwest when I retire.
So much to explore over there, so much open expanse and amazing sights.
But then I get on a mountain trail here and get lost in our rainforest-esque trees and the sounds of the rocky creeks, the birds. I prefer rolling with all the windows and top down. But with mud/water every 100 feet it seemed I had to keep them up this trip.
Fire Dept. Benefit show this coming Saturday and I didn't want to spend two days washing mud out of the inside to prep for it.
Come down here for a vacation/visit sometime. You never know...I think we've converted a couple of transplants that came for a trail ride and fell in love with the area.

The next group outing I am going is in the park Sept 6, 7, 8. The majority of the runs will be on the 7th. This last weekend I always have a different event so I missed out last year and this year with running with the Blue Ridge peeps.

We would be glad to have you in VA!!
We took mine to Reddish Knob on Saturday. We took the fire roads up. Easy but dusty. All the creeks were dry. You can get there in a Camry by coming in from the north side. It is all paved that way. We came up from the south. Roads were great, except for the idiots that drive too fast and think they own the road. We let our grandson fish on Elkhorn Lake. We hope to hit Flagpole Knob soon. I am still squeamish about some places I want to go off road. I really do not want to scratch mine up yet. I am sure I will give in before too long... Here are a couple shots from Elkhorn Lake and Reddish Knob.
