Quick question. I want to install the kit, but instead of an included button I want to use the AUX. So do I need just connect the yellow wire from the solenoid and skip ground and 4 amp fuse wire?

Don’t quote me on this but depending on the winch size they can pull way more amps than any Aux switch can handle, specifically 1&2 that are rated for the most. I would use it in conjunction with the fuse that’s provided if you do use a Aux

I understand it's for the button, not the winch. And the diagram says 5amps. It's like a button for an ARB compressor. You can use a button, and the switch has power, ground, and a wire to the compressor, OR you can take the compressor wire and connect it to the AUX as AUX already has power and ground.

But as I am new to this stuff, I wanted to double-check it.

That should work fine. You just need to energize the relay to turn on the winch. This is ideal for the upfitter switches.

This ended up working, right? Splicing the yellow onto an AUX wire and foregoing the red and ground wires to the provided switch?

I’m actually about to install the power interrupt kit now and wanted to verify.

Yes, I just used the AUX instead of the included button

Wire 1 to an AUX wire. You'll still need to ground the solenoid.

Understood. I was simply referring to wires 2 and 3 (the ones solely dealing with the switch) being omitted.

As far as grounding the solenoid is concerned, connecting the solenoid and the winch to the negative battery terminal (As I understand the diagram) is adequate, correct?

Sorry if I’m over asking, I just really want to be sure and not break anything/start a fire/electrocute myself here.

Correct. Omit wires 2 & 3 since you’re using the aux switch. Ground the winch and solenoid at the battery. Nothing to it…
