Would you let the 2.3 be a dealbreaker ?

Found two Badlands 2door hardtops nearby. One is green and the other is cactus grey.

I really wanted green, but it has the 2.3L. The cactus is the same exact car except it has the 2.7L.

My main use case will be commuting, road trips, and light off roading. Would I be dumb to take the green in this case ?

I have a 2dr 2.3L BL and it operates with plenty of power for me. I'm no speed demon, but I get on the freeway no issue, etc. If you want to upgrade the engine to do fancy tunes and upgraded turbos, etc., the 2.7L works better. But the stock 2.3L has 300hp. The 2.7L has 315hp. 🤷‍♂️

I doubt that 2.3 will have enough power to even get it off of the lot!

You're going to get everyone's personal view on this but yes, either will be fine for your case, I have the 2.3 that's my daily commuter and I have no problem being first from the stoplights. Did you test drive either of them???

The 2.3 is plenty.
These must be the good old days when we debate if 300hp is enough for a stock vehicle.

I just bought my BL 10 days ago. My debate was the 2.3L Manual, or the 2.7 Auto. I took the 2.3 Manual, and have been completely satisfied. Came from a 3.0L Explorer too. It is plenty for this size vehicle. Been averaging 21.5 MPG too with SAS.

2.3 is great. Moves my Badlands brick with fairly large rubber tires with ease and feels pretty sporty to be honest. Maybe the 2.7 if you drive the shlt out of stuff. Even that’s not enough then.

Don't ask anyone for their opinion, go test drive both and decide. Its the only way you'll know.

Now go buy the 6 banger and a rattle can of your favorite color! 🤣😂😁

My experience as well. No issues with the 2.3. Plenty of power, torque and reliability.

I have a 2dr 2.3 BD and love it. Drove a friends 2dr BB 2.7 and it wasnt that impressive for the cost difference. Granted mine has 4.46 gears and hers has 3.73. My advice is drive both. Take the same test drive route and same driving styles.

No, this is a 2dr, not the struggle bus 4dr.
I think we both got the manual so the choice was made for us already. Now if I had to have a four door and an automatic I'd choose the 2.7 all day to off-set the extra weight.
