If I can get $5k or more for my 21 I’ll pull the trigger on my price protected 23 with a black painted top. I’ll also use the 200,000 ford points ford gave me.

I've thought about it...the wife might kill me though. But a color hard top would be nice. If that was in fact offered in 23 then that's what would make me look at a 23 and think it's "more desireable" than my current 21.

Stuff that would get me to trade-in:
- Increase in towing capacity to 5500+ lbs
- Ain't happening, if we see an increase in towing it'll probably be 500 - 1000 lbs at most.
- PHEV around/under $55,000
- May happen... but not in 2023. But this would effectively allow me drop from 3 vehicles to 2 vehicles. At the moment with the price of fuel, keeping my small Focus effectively pays for itself.
- V8 with a manual transmission under $50,000
- Basically my dream vehicle... but it ain't happening. If Ford surprises us and offers a V8, it'll likely be automatic only, loaded up with technology I don't want, and also $65,000+

Significantly higher towing and/or a PHEV with the 7MT would probably do it. Apart from that any incremental "improvements" likely wouldn't be enough unless somehow the used market stayed strong enough for me to fully cover all expenses so far and roll into the new one without an increase in costs.

My 21 order, pushed to 22....it's finally built and almost here. After a 2+year wait.....it will be buried with me but more than likely the Wife will keep it. It is not going anywhere. $100K offer? Nope!!!!

Save the money from all the electronic gizmos and use it for REAL hardware - better tie rods, reservoir shocks, beefier halfshafts, etc.

I may not have a choice as I am still 400 days into my build date, so I could end up getting a 2023 as I may not get a 2022.
