Wrong parts

I ordered mudflaps for 2021 Wildtrack. The brackets for the front fenders did not fit, The fender bracket holes were off 1 ". Amazon is sending another set. How did I get the wrong backets with my mudflaps?

Other than "mistakes happen," I doubt anyone here can accurately answer that question.

Amazon.
Everything is not vetted against accuracy there. You should have seen the gigantic rotors I got sent for my Acura from Amazon.
Returned them, got some at the parts store.
Similar tie rod end debacle for my old TJ.
I got sent CV shafts for a Ford Taurus.

I use Amazon as a last resort. Too many bogus items. YMMV

I got something yesterday that was a mini plug in kitchen grill "Used like new". It was missing a part, cracked all to hell (like in pieces) and the grill still had food stuck to the inside.

Amazon sucks sometimes and I hate a lot of people all the time. lol.

Humans screw up. I second guess myself on every tie rod kit I send out, did I get every piece in there? Too many? Did I give away a free OEM tie rod instead of the aftermarket they paid for? (Yes, yes I did once.)

I've kicked around the concept of moving to "green packaging". Random recycled boxes and packing material instead of ordering new. Lower costs all around, less waste, and promote it as green. But dish rags for packing might be a step too far.
