See! The Bronco is a truck!

I‘m honestly shocked the Bronco did what it just did. Smaller vehicle, smaller engine, less hp, and completely held its own.

This is probably the dumbest thing I've seen from TFL but it does raise a question on Towing capability ... why is the Bronco limited to 3500 lbs towing? Is it because of stopping power or what? I'm confused as to the limit

It's due to the tongue weight, soft suspension and maybe the rear frame rail. It has plenty of power and would have no issues pulling a load, but can't handle the weight being put on the rear end. The Bronco Raptor has weight distributing bars (kinda) that tie the hitch into more of the frame for more support, and active suspension that can stiffen the shocks when in Tow mode.

All in good fun. Surprising result. I’d have thought the TRX would have dragged the Bronco around the whole field 😂

I hate these tug comparisons... They make no sense unless ever car was on the exact same tires.

Interestingly, the Bronco and the TRX were on the same 35" Goodyear Territories, so maybe something to that. And, while they tied in the final pull against each other, the TRX has more than 1,000 pounds on the Bronco, and a much larger engine. The Bronco rocked that challenge and despite the official tie, I would call the Bronco the winner.

I think the Bronco's weight and the 4.70 gears were the main reasons it did so well. The TRXs only come with 3.55s.
