WWYD - fly to pick up or put on a transport?

Got the call today from Granger that the FE is in, accessories and add-ons complete and ready to go. Now to make a decision.....

What would you do?

1) Fly out and drive back to Vegas, burn 1200 miles in 2 days,

or

2) Load it up on a truck and have it brought out and keep the miles low?

I picked mine up and drove it home 1800 miles. Loved learning all its quarks.

My vote is drive it. If you are worried about break in, take some back roads and do the $500 miles varied speed break in as recommended. Get an Oil and filter change and roll out.

I know there are reports of some issues, but man, it's an off-road vehicle and not made of glass. I'll bet the chances of having the an issue is small number of thousands of vehicles.

If it does break down better to have it towed to the nearest dealer and sort it out.

I flew from the sf Bay Area to Portland Or spent the night then drove home the next day 700 miles. Loved every minute of it

That's right. The more the better !!!

I would (and did) fly out and get it. In your shoes, I'd spend 1 day getting it to Colorado then I'd get off the interstate and spend the next 5 days getting it to LV. So many awesome parks and photo ops across this route. Ford's break-in instructions are vague enough to make me question their legitimacy but I still tried to stay off the interstate as much as possible.

I drove mine from Granger to phoenix. Non-stop, took my dad with me and drove straight. Free hotel from points on the night of flying in and free flight because of points. only cost was gas and food. Overall would recommend!
