For those surf fishers out there, I wanted to share that I have been using the X-Rack Rod holders since early June and they have held up great. I had the plastic double rod holders before and wasn't super thrilled with them. I couldn't get the hood open with them mounted - these provide that clearance as long as there are no rods in the tubes. It takes me 1.5hrs to get to my fishing post and I even took a week camping trip to Acadia from DE. Locked up my rods in the tubes for the week and didn't have any problems.
Nick has been great to talk to and he even made a custom set of white to match my friends Heritage LE (including the white trail sight caps too). Definitely something to check out.
I know you are asking: Does he really need 4 rods? Not initially. But us Dad's with daughters all share one 'problem' in common.....boyfriends.
