Hey everyone!

You asked for it, and we listened! Our engine skid plate just got a serious upgrade. Now, instead of taking the whole thing off for an oil change, you can just pop off a small access panel to get to the drain plug on both 2.3L and 2.7L models. Quick, easy, and no more wrestling with the whole skid plate.

*2.3L owners may still want to take the entire engine skid plate off due to the location of the oil filter drain tube. Another solution is to take a water bottle that has been cut and slide under the drain on the skidplate.

And don’t worry – it’s still built to take a beating offroad. Whether you're tackling rocks, mud, or whatever else comes your way, your engine’s as protected as ever.

Check out the new design, and let us know what you think. We’re always listening, and we love building gear that keeps you out on the trail longer!

that is cool for sure. Since I have the 2.3L, I have to I remove the transmission skid in order to reach the filter and access the little plastic oil channel for the filter.

I find it easier to reach the filter from underneath rather than the wheel well. (Except to remove the skid of). I am a newbie so maybe that's on me

I try to rotate the tires when I change the oil, so I can get up in the wheel well to reach the filter easily. I can get to it if I crank the wheel all the way to the right, but it's a pain, and with the tire off it's a piece of cake.

That said, yeah, that channel always gets me though.

Will you include this as the standard or at least an option when ordering an entire armor kit?

Your factory bash plate only covers from bumper to the first crossmember, The engine skid goes from the first to second crossmember. Our skid will work with the factory front bash plate. We also offer a replacement for the front skid as well it you would like a bit more protection.
