Really if it proves easy to modify and build big power, I could see ford taking a big chunk of the LS crate sales. Its a compact big block. If the 7 speed is available aswell, this combo could end up in my 4x4 custom bodied van project one day.
Maybe if it was alum block. One of the draws of the LS is weight, getting stuffed in Miatas and such.
But very happy this is already a Ford Perf part for sale. Hope they have a reasonable harness/comp, so I can grab one of these used down the road.

I hear ya. The 7.3 is 100lbs more than the 6.2 chevy. 530vs430 lbs.

This not your papas pushrod motor it is ready for big power and if you got enough to go with it I've heard Brian Wolfe say the block can handle 2500 hp or so. ;)

So, tuner shops have made them over 600hp with just n/a bolt ons.

tuner shops have made over 900 with a centrifugal.

Ford says the block is good to 2k+

It weighs 150lbs less than a 429/460.

I could really consider this as a motor for my 71 instead of building another 460 stroker, especially if there is alot of aftermarket support for it.

Oh, and it is in a fairly small package, I believe I remember seeing it is on par with 351W for dimensions.

cant find dimensions of the 7.3 anywhere. But here’s the 351w/5.8L as a comparison.
When it was first released, there was a video where they took a measuring tape to the new Godzilla and a 351 in the same shop at the time.
You are correct, they are pretty close in dimensions, but I forget what they were.

Godzilla is approx 2 inches wider at the valve covers and 1.25 longer from rear block face to front of timing cover.
They fit comfortably in Fox bodies.

Which front axle setup you have? Don't think that weird setup with 2 driveshafts will hold up if that's what you have.

keep I mind this is total width. The Ls motor is only that wide in a few spots. The coyote is thick!

meaning they both will look the same from the top. But fitting them between your rails is a different story

not including accessories.
(the ls is actually MUCH wider with accessories because the alternator is WAY out in right field)

but yes the turbos are included on the ecoboost.

throttle body included
Exhaust headers included

the block is similar in size to the old 351w!
and there a few people already pumping out over 600hp with just a big cam and intake! slap a blower on that and booom 1000hp baby!
Excuse me? A blower?....... I've only literally dreamed of a mad max style bronco with a supercharger sticking out of the hood.
