What’s up y’all, sometimes the best mods are cheap, small and solve a small but annoying problem.

As many of y’all know, once you change out your factory wheels for a different offset, your spare tire “bumpers”, no longer brace your tire. This leads to your spare wiggling around more which can cause extra stress to your tailgate. Especially on jumps and high speed shenanigans.

Now I know a lot of y’all have stuffed tennis balls in the now empty space or made your own bumpers. But I’ve been asking companies to make them for awhile now. With no luck.

Well now that’s changed with the new offering from Barnes4WD! They now sell a pair of adjustable bumpers for $27.99 on their website! They are cut to fit, made of durable rubber and compress with your tire allowing proper tension on that spare. It removed all the wiggling on my Bronco after install.

It’s easy to cut to size and just swap over the OEM anchor from the old bumper and throw these bad boys on.

For my application with 0 Offset wheels and a 12.5” wide tire, I cut at the 5th groove from the bottom or about 1” longer then my stock bumpers. This gave 1/4” of extra rubber that compressed when I installed my spare.

Great idea but Ford sells an OEM version for 0 offset and it is cheap. Ordered from dealer and picked up less than $20 and fits perfect.

I saw a thread on that awhile ago but never confirmed it fit and couldn’t find it through a google search. You have a link?

What I like about this is that’s it adjustable for different offsets.

Found it. Part Number M2DZ-1A401-A. About $20. Perfect fit for SAS 315 tire and zero offset. Like Ford made it just for upgrading to a zero offset. If you went bigger to a 37 I would thing you could shave it down if needed.

Nice! I noticed though it’s $20/ea and they are sold in quantities of 1x. So the total price would be $40 putting it much higher then the Barnes and still lacking adjustability.

Definitely a good product. Do they install with the same screw as oem?

These bad boys?

I got a video on those suckers too! They definitely are a chore to install. Don’t do it in cold weather or hot weather. ;) Their adhesive is supposed to be better now because of my complaints.

They hold up very well though. I do suggest coating them with something to keep the color of you like the rich black. Mine are fading and have been rubbed raw on rocks

I have my 37th smashed up against the RTR spare tire carrier so it doesn't move at all.... As far as the sweater love it. I think Matt needs to create in high-speed off-road course on his abandoned resort! Similar to the Raptor Ranch in Texas.
