When you bolted yours on. How tight do you have to get the nuts?
Well when I installed them about nine months ago I did not use a torque wrench, i just tighten them as much as I could.

Ok, just making sure. I made them too tight (I also didn't use a torque wrench, just a regular one) and accidentally snapped one of the studs. Zroadz is processing a warranty claim right now, but I'm wondering what I need to do next time so I don't make the same mistake.

What did Zroadz tell you to torque it to? I used to ham fist stuff all the time now when that voice in my head says give it one more “ugga dugga” I stop. 😆

They didn’t. All they said was tighten.

So, I took that as tighten until I can’t physically move the nut anymore.

I totally get it, but when you did your warranty claim they didn't recommend a torque setting so you wouldn't break it a second time? Mine are arriving today which is why I am asking.

I just filed the warranty claim yesterday (also they broke yesterday). I did ask them how much I need to tighten them, but I haven't received a response yet.

Just put them on my 2 door. Wife wanted a step like others have said. She is happy now.
Took less than hour to unbox, remove the stock rock rails, install the Zroadz and cleanup. Mounts exactly the same way as the Badlands rails.

On the Box UPS wrote 85lbs so ~75-80lbs for the pair which felt about right.

Do you still have your factory rock rails? Would you consider selling them?

Got mine all mounted up. Really like them. Super easy install and they are beefy! If you are on the fence about buying these don't be. They are worth it!

Any advice on tightening them. Did you do it until they were "reasonably" tight or until the nut wouldn't move? (I'm still waiting on a response from zroadz).

For the main body bolts, I tightened them up really well. I’m also not using a big rachet with tons of leverage. Once you feel them snug you are good. One thing to note with the pinch weld bolts dont tighten them up all the way at first. Mount the step then go through and tighten them up but not all the way. Then go back and snug them up. The point is if you overtighten one side and then move the next it probably puts undue force on the bolt welded to the step. Hope it helps.

Hmm, ok that makes sense. I did that initially (the loose pinch weld nuts, while bolting into the main body). After that, I tightened the pinch weld bolts fully one by one. Maybe, I should have just done then progressively together (like tighten one a bit, tighten the next a bit, and then keep cycling through until all are tight)?

yes, progressively is what I did. I think snug is good. The fronts are longer as well since there is no bracket there like the other two. But don't take my word as gospel I would ask Zroadz to be 100% sure.

These do look really sharp! I've also been looking at Havoc Trailcrawler sliders for about $500 less. Did you happen to look at those? I'm wondering why such a big price difference.
