How are you guys storing / organizing all the gear you take off-roading so it's easily accessible?

I'm mostly beach driving at the moment... so just carrying the few things in the pic below.

Does everyone just throw stuff in a duffel bag? I'm sure there there are zillion options... and I'm probably overthinking it. But just looking for some new ideas.

Any link to that net?

That particular net was the attic net from my 2006 Xterra, it just happened to fit the back of the Bronco perfectly. It was made by Raingler, after all these years of use, it's still in awesome shape.

They do have a Bronco section on the website:

For fishing, I have a fishing rack on trailer hitch. But heres the normal. Note where umbrella fits with 1 bungee cord.

Here's what's in the tool bags: 12T color coded US Jack, round axle adapter, two straps, various hitch and loop metal clamps, a lug nut ratchet (I don't like stock jack equipment) most partly painted in A51, and a normal 25 year old shovel, recently repainted in epoxy-graphite and A51 spray paint. I find bungee cords on the rear headrests hold everything in place, and when I'm not on the beach, I can still remove it all for other luggage, and the OEM jack is still under the floor. No built in shelving, for me, its too restrictive. But, the home built storage others are showing here is brilliant for them!

Storage is terrible in my opinion, I also came from an Xterra. So had to build a box which is based off the ARB box, $150 vs $1700. Center is for my camp kitchen, sides are for recovery-gear/tools/clothing/SHTF, behind holds roof bag and trasheroo.

Those beach fishing permit plates are just so cool looking it almost makes me forget offensive I find it that you need a permit to fish from the beach. Don't even need a fishing license to fish from the beach in FL. Jealous of your rig... and that cool plate!

I removed the back seats and created a storage space that allows me to access the bronco cargo storage and my duffle bags, compressor and misc stuff fits underneath the shelf I made. Out of sight from prying eyes when the tops off.

I'm actually in FL now at Amelia Island State Park. Thats a Base Sasquatch next to my Non-Sas OBX. It cost $2 pp to enter the beach, and a Saltwater Fishing permit is required, I'm told. Not crowded right now. In Delaware, all the beach is state owned, and its so overcrowded with 4wd from PA, DE, DC etc, that you can only park on beach if actively Fishing. Permits out of state are about $150/annual, but they ran out of allotment in February. You can still get mid-week permit (no-weekends). Outer Banks is mostly National Park, and is also about $130/annual. Gets busy summer weekends. There are town 4wd OBX beaches, most notably Corona, in the north bordering VA. Free except Memorial Day-Labor Day.

Bottom line: too many 4wd vehicles on crowded beaches. Personally, i dont travel Memorial Day to Labor Day

I don't work for the FWC, but just read it again that Florida residents don't need a license to fish from the shore or structures attached to the land. Just FYI. In my 10+ years of going to our condo down there no one has ever asked me for a license. The cops stop and talk to me all the time on the beach, but just to ask what I'm catching and shoot the shit. I have a license and reef permit though just because of going on my buddy's boat. They stop us almost every time we come back to the marina. I've never driven on the beach... I bet that would be cool, but also cause lots of problems. I've read about those permits and the allotments on a rod building forum from a guy that I trade surf rod info with. Just a really foreign idea to me.

Thanks for the Info. I read the regulations as you suggest. You're correct that you as a FL resident don't need to pay for a Saltwater shore or pier license, but you're supposed to get the free license as of 2009. But, as you say, if you have the boat fishing license, you dont need the shore license. I, however, have to buy a saltwater fishing license, which includes the shore, since I am a SC resident fishing in FL. Once I learn the fish species here, I may do that!
