I heard a rumor that UCA bolts are single use according to Ford. If true that means allot of us should be replacing them or atleast buying a spare.
Hell almost all the bolts on a bronco are TTY single use lol, but agree stocking up on common spare stuff is a must.

Shout out to Fast Intentions, they volunteered themselves as a pit crew, we could hardly walk past our vehicles or open a hood without one of them noticing or respectfully offering to help.

They also adjusted the pre load on a fair amount of our rigs on their one layover day in beautiful Loretto.

I just ordered the solo Motorsports double shear uca kit Iā€™m gonna weld in there. That appears to be the major difference between the raptor and standard bronco front tower. For 200 bucks with new bolts Iā€™ll be over prepared after seeing his shear

Especially with that mid travel your sporting. That thing has so much potential as you dial it in.
Great to meet you and your beautiful family.

Thank you everyone for the great pictures! I love and miss the Baja trips! Moving back East 10 years ago from SoCal has introduced me to different type of terrain and adventures.
Your pictures rekindled my many fond memories of Baja. Pre-running and chasing for the 1000, as well as racing in the San Felipe 250. Not to mention my many other great adventures. Camping, surfing, bicycling, fishing and of course the food (cerveza) and people. Thank you all and keep the great images coming. Baja is a magical place and It appears everyone had a great time sharing great stories and creating awesome memories.

I'm interested to see how this works for you, I'd sure like to armor that shock tower. My other take away from last week, is I'm going to try and have my local fab shop figure a way to weld in a bracket for Fox or King hydraulic bump stops front and rear. Foutz makes some brackets, but they don't quite fit with the Icon reservoirs. Great hanging out with you all last week. Can't wait for the next one!

Iā€™m with ya on that one. I donā€™t remember where the icon reservoir sits but my plan for the rear with kings is the foutz kit and moving my reservoir up about 2ā€ with a new bracket.

Another option will be lc1 fab out of az. I talked to them a couple days ago and theyā€™ll be coming out with a rear axle truss thatā€™ll incorporate bump stop pads and frame mounts in the next couple months.

Iā€™m interested to see if you find a solution for the front. I was trying to mock something up yesterday and there isnā€™t much space to work with away from the tie rod so might have to get creative with a strike plate

Looks like a whole lot of fun. Anyone care to share a gear list/supply list ? I`m not seeing more than 1 spare on anything. And not a lot of roof racks loaded with stuff.

With Broncos, we all run 1 spare. Usually works, people get flats, but Bronco runs are somewhat tame compared to Raptor runs, where 2 spares are the norm. If you get a flat, the support team gets it repaired the next day in the nearest town. If you get another flat, people usually loan you a spare if needed.

There were two roof racks that broke the mounting bolts in front. Baja has some rough terrain and g-outs. Hit them wrong and sometimes things break. Sometimes not.

The ā€œneeded stuffā€ is a 50w radio, and a GPS. Canā€™t go without them. Radio you can get anywhere, I use a PCI Kenwood. GPS I use a Lowrance, but a lot of people use GAIA, and thatā€™s free! Useful stuff is a good jack like Pro Eagle or the Harbor Freight knock off. Extra couple of air cleaners. Tools. Tow strap. Shackles. Tie rods. Extra gas can if you have the mount. The chase truck has stuff and does the support work if you break. You just need to pay for the parts you break, of course.

If you look on EXOā€™s website, for a Bronco run, they list whatā€™s expected.

Thanks for the quick answer,I was just reading up over there. I have been planning on a Midland mxt575 radio. We`ve only had our Heritage since Aug and have never 4x4d before so am collecting gear slowly.

I'll probably add the Foutz rear bumpstops. Moving the King reservoir wont be too hard. Yu can go vertical toward the front of the wheel well by just trimming the fender liner some. I think Shredder has rear King's and bump stops her setup might be worth a gander.

You got some great pics Scott. You may want to check the reservoir hoses on your Icons. I was checking through all of my painted torque markings the other day, and saw that my reservoir hose was rubbing on my upper control arm. It's worn all the way down to the braid. You've done enough of these already, that that issue probably would have come up if it was going to be an issue, but might be worth a look.

Hey Matt! Been there, done that. Not sure if you have an older kit, or newer. I had an older kit and the UCA cut through my resi lines, basically disabling my rondo on the first run last year. Luckily it was the last day. I called ICON, and they covered everything. I sent them back my fronts (on their dime), they replaced with longer hoses, refilled the oil and nitrogen, and sent them back in a week. You might get away with turning the reservoir a little, get some hose relief.

Hopefully Iā€™ll see you on another EXO run. The June run only has 10 Broncos, never went with so little, should be interesting.

Found some old pics, fun times in BajašŸ˜‚ At least I was able to drive it home, it was riding on springs only with all the oil gone, but it made it!

Yikes! I have the newest kit, and they were supposed to have worked all of that stuff out. I got lucky, that it didn't bust all the way through. Looks like on mine it was installer error, they didn't clock the shock correctly, to where the hose fitting is closest to the body of the vehicle. Looks like my shop is going to take care of me, and handle everything.

I can't make the June run, but would jump on a Sept or Oct run in a heartbeat if it became available!
