I don’t know what’s more surprising…the fact that it was designed such that you are required to drill through the top….or that there are actually some people willing to do that
Actually, drilling thru the roof to tie-in a rack to the underlying OEM structure is not unusual... and very strong/secure. ARB racks already do this for Jeep Wranglers and Rhino-Rack's own awesome Backbone system for the Jeep also requires drilling (a total of 12 holes) thru the roof.

also interested in this. I was totally sold until I saw drill
Same here. Not too keen on drilling through my MIC top, but still very appealing to be able to remove the front roof panels on my 4-door.

Will be watching this thread with interest. Having a roof rack and still be able to remove the front roof panels will solve a lot of the fly rod storage problems/issues I encountered on my recent road trip to Montana.

Build the 2-door version please. Seems silly that it wasn't designed concurrently with the 4-door considering that every 2-door comes standard with the hardtop. 🤷‍♂️

Also, please ensure that the 2-door version is compatible with the Bestop Sunrider.

-Hardtop and roll bar mounted (requires drilling through the hardtop)
Are you working on a non-drill option? Rack looks great but the idea of drilling into a hardtop I waited two years for make me cringe. Jeep owners maybe doing this for your rack, but I don't think their hardtops are near impossible to source.

Is there an option to have just over the hard top and not over the middle section?

Currently no options for these two things. But all feedback is being considered.

Build it for the two door! I have a 4 door, so I'm ok on space but based on this thread it seems like they're in desperate need of more

The holy grail for me would be a Sunrider top that covers both the front and middle roof sections (4 door obviously) with a rack on the back section of the MIC top. Maybe I am in the minority, but that is what I am going to hold out for.

Barring a Sunrider top that covers the both the front and middle section, I will probably go with the Bimini mesh top and just remove the front and middle roof sections. I have already taken off my factory roof rack because I want the option to go topless at a moment's notice, and I can't do that with the factory roof rack. It just takes away too much flexibility IMO. A rear section only roof rack would be awesome to have, to provide some extra storage capacity but still have the freedom to go topless when you want.

This photo is probably showing "concept" aftermarket components, but what I like is that the roof rack on this still allows you to remove the front roof section.

Def better than anything I can do right now with the factory roof rack.

The fishing pole rack would be great for the beach, but would be totally useless in the mountain when overhanging branches would be damaging to fly rods stored in that position.
