I purchased the Rough Country Vertex 2.5 coilovers for my 5" RC lift that I installed last year. These will replace the 5" spacers that came with the lift. Coilovers were a talking point for most manufacturers back then. These have the external reservoirs with 8 stage adjustments.

I received both rear now, the fronts and adjustment wrench should be here later today. I will install these tomorrow. Should be just take out the old and replace with the new. The coilovers are preset at 5" out of the box.

Are there any specs for these? Who makes them for RC? How are you getting 5” lift, some hefty preload and increased length?

I have a R/C 5" lift already installed last year after I took delivery. But back then there was no coilovers available, just 5" spacers added to oem coilovers. Now that R/C has just put these on the market to replace the spacers used with their previous lift, I bought em and going to install tomorrow. They are already preset at 5" of lift, so its just a swap out. Ill take before and after measurements at each corner to verify the height.

All info is available on their website.

@Grumpy Lets us know how they ride! Also interesting to see who makes them.
I just called R/C and they state the coilovers are built to R/C specs but are not at liberty to state who the vendor is.

I checked a lot of other forums such as F150, Toyota and the like and the reviews were very good. A lot have stated that after having King's on previous builds, and trying out Vertex on their current build that they were highly impressed. Not to mention off the shelf vs 10-12 week build times. And the price differences, especially for extras included like 8 stage valving.

Also, King warrants their shocks for 90 days after purchase from manufacturer defects. R/C Vertex is 3yrs.

Can't find a lot of info on the Vertex. Are they rebuildable?

I would advise an alignment after install.

Well I did the install of all 4 coilovers yesterday in about 5hrs alone. I took measurements of all 4 corners before and after. After I was about 2" higher over the previous 5" spacers, the rear was about 1/2" lower. But after driving it after install yesterday and today it has dropped about 1.25" up front which brought the back up to before install. I will wait till next weekend for it to fully settle and re-measure each corner. Then adjust each corner to exact measurements I had before install. Not a big issue, I purchased and received the adjustment wrench.

After a day and a half I can say I am very pleased with ride quality. So much smoother when hitting bumps, braking dive and acceleration dip. Night and day difference so far. One of the reasons for these coilovers is my whole 5" lift is Rough Country. And having a 3yr warranty is a plus too.

I removed 5" rear spacers from my old Silverado and went with 5" lift springs and it rode so much better. My Tacoma had 3" lift coilovers and that truck rode great as well. Springs can really make a difference.
