So was just checking engine bay of my 2022 2.3 2 door with 8900 miles on it and noticed some oil near the belts. Nothing seems to have dripped down to the floor yet but it does seem to be leaking from a seem on the engine. Can kinda see where its starting in the picture with the arrow. Just wondering how serious this leak is and how involved is it to repair. I am still under warranty but really dont want to leave my Bronco at the dealer for a super long time.

Timing case leak...have been several posted. Not leaking enough to be of concern yet but certainly keep an eye on it and maybe have the dealer document. As for warranty repair, it seems as though Ford will not complete the repair under warranty unless the leak is actually dripping.

Thanks for the info. I'll look it up here. I would assume this leak will get worse and worse so if they dont fix it now, would they still be obligated to fix the issue once the warranty expires? I dont drive the Bronco as a daily so dont put a ton of miles on it.

It sould be covered under the 5yr/60k power train warranty, that's pretty much it unless they come out w/ a TSB or recall. Best to at least get it documented w/ dealer now.

Hi there! I can look into your Bronco's leak concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your Bronco's VIN?

Funny story...one of my drivers for my dental lab business was a world war II fighter pilot. He always said when he walked out to his plane if there was no oil spots underneath it he would have the mechanic check the fluid levels...he always wanted to see oil spots. Our new Broncos not so much...I am 69 and have done three frame up restorations...all Chevy Chevelles...all of the engines I rebuilt 454 to 350's after a few thousand miles experienced seepage of oil to some extent...some more than others. One drop of oil on your garage floor can spread out to about a 6 inch circle..that's one drop. I think your being prudent watching your seepage...I suspect it won't amount to a major problem...but keep watching it and I will on my 2023 2.7 too!!!

A benefit of owning a Bronco with the 2.7L engine is that there is no part of the engine that you can actually see. Out of sight, out of mind….
