I checked the oil level when I checked under the hood right after the failure. The oil level was good. There was also no oil on the ground at that time. I did attempt to start the engine once after checking things out. The sound was horrible and when the tow driver arrived there was a small amount of oil on the ground (guessing a quarter cup) not near the oil pan but from the passenger side of the engine.Just curious, when did you do the first oil change? What filter currently, oil brand and type? Hope for the best on your situation.
First oil change at 1100 miles. I am anal and like to change my own oil so that I know that it is done correctly and it gives me a chance to look for other issues. I recently found 3 drops of fluid on my garage floor and it went to the dealer for a new rear transmission seal. No issues since, I have been checking.
I will get my engine details off the top when I visit the dealer after Christmas and I will update the issue.
