You're reading it too liberally. otherwise backup cameras, now legally required in all vehicles, would be illegal. They are referring to actual TV over the airwaves, or CD's playing in CD players. Nothing more.
Honestly, negotiations should have been done before you chose your dealer when you reserved. Especially in the beginning when we were not aware you could change your dealer once you entered them in your reservation. Nothing worse than being stuck with a dealer who decides they will charge...
There's been a lot of discussion on what colors (if any) Ford will dump to make room for MY22's new expected colors. We already know Lightning Blue for sure. If they make their decision on popularity, do you really get rid of silver, a car color staple? Red? Black!!?
I'm a mid July reservation and I WAS holding out until MY22 mainly for a white roof. But now I think they look ugly so will probably go with the black.
Don't let just rack and deadening hold you back. Those will be easily solvable aftermarket. Actually desirable for sound deadening-factory...
Yeah I wasn't suggesting that at all. Why did you wait so long to nail down pricing with your dealer? I had settled on the Granger deal before I even made my reservation. No way was I going to go with a dealer before knowing the details, especially since so many will gouge buyers.
My guess is...
If that's true and less than 2% of orders are non-late availability, that would mean EVERY RESERVATION qualified to place a MY21 order within that 2% will get their vehicle in the first batch of allocations. Right? What am I missing?
Me thinks the 80% scheme was Ford's way of appeasing dealers bitching and moaning about not getting dealer stock for the first year or two. I mean if you could convert 2 out of every 10 sales to dealer stock where you could charge $5K markup, wouldn't you?
Not to mention the additional vehicles...
Dealing with car dealers always feels shady. :)
The process is not like ordering a burger at Burger King. It is a drawn out process. If you had dozens/100s of orders to enter, you would want to start now too. Granger had 2 or 3 people doing it and it took them weeks just for their first...
