Surprised it took so long. It’s small. Hopefully doesn’t spider. Not going to fix it unless it does

Long ago my car had a cracked windshield, and I procrastinated for many months in getting it fixed. Finally I got it fixed, and a month later a new impact gave it a new crack.
I recommend getting the chip filled, I believe it prolongs the inevitable and your insurance may cover it.
I edited my post to clarify what happened. The old one was an actual crack and we eventually replaced the windshield. The new impact was just a chip that didn't spread over time. Next time I'll get the chip fixed right away, which I didn't know was possible at the time. This is why I’ll wait on replacement if it doesn’t get worst
I’ll second this advice. I got a small chip the first time I had to take the interstate. Took about 15 minutes of interstate driving to pick it up. I went and got it fixed at my local windshield repair spot. Used the one my insurance company recommended. This repair shop actually does chip repairs for free and I was in and out in about 15-20 minutes. Can barely make out where the chip was if you look closely and know what you are looking for. If you keep up with fixing them quickly, you can largely avoid having the small chips spider out. Well worth 20 minutes to put off a full replacement indefinitely. They tend to spider faster if it’s cold out and you have the defroster on. So keep that in mind if you get a winter chip in a cold climate.I’ll look into it tomorrow. Thanks
