Just ordered a Bimini and was wondering this.

I do the same, I unbuckle the two snaps that passthrough the hard/soft top clamp points. Then fold the bimini top backwards and leave the two other straps connected and lower the soft top into place.Yes. The Bestop Bimini is meant to stay in place.
I found I had to mess with it and leave 2 clips in place to keep it tight as when installed and the top on per Bestop instructions it sagged too much and rubbed my head (I’m 6’5”).
