Is the paint color off or is it just me?

I had a 1995 Probe GT that had tri-color red, and I had the fuel door replaced, and when I took it to a local, well-reknowned body shop, they really didn't want to paint just the fuel door because of this exact problem. I insisted, and it turned out a slightly darker red than the rest of the car.

Even doing several spray out cards, tri-coats are a pita. I'm not good with color but look at it under full sun then "daylight" led or fluorescent light. Should be more noticeable under the whiter light.

Apparently the bumper got away from them while trying to line it up again. Not only that, they also left a socket inside the cargo area panel that I could hear rolling around as I was driving. They had to open it up again to remove it. Tech must have been in a rush to go home .

I've put hitches on 3 Bronco's now never had to remove the bumper. Unfortunately who ever wrote the instructions for Bronco hitches think you do. It's not required to do the wiring either. Hard to say from a pic if it's actually off but yes azure grey will be hard to match for all but the best painters.

Am I the only one who thought it actually looked "off" in the first picture as well
And isn't that little piece plastic? Metallic paint doesn't quite look the same on plastic as it does on metal.
So having the 2 right next to each other sort of accentuates that.

It is off on the first pic, before paint.
And yes, the plastic does take the metallics and pearls differently. Usually requires the first few coats to flash off completely and apply a drop coat from a different orientation/air pressure/distance to even some of that saturation out.
Either way I'd take it back, be reasonable about the disappointment in the match, give them a shot at trying it again.

It looks off on that picture, and it may be.
But I've looked at that same spot on mine and at times it matched other times it doesn't depending on light.and shadows.

Unless mine had the same repair done before I bought it. Hmmm

Same. I remembered I had this pic from when I put on the black emblem.
To me, that panel looks "warmer" in comparison to the tailgate.
I think lighting (and the material) has a lot to do with it.

How does it compare to the other side? And to the trim piece under the grill? After looking at several Google image photos and youtube videos showcasing that color those pieces do appear to be slightly different from the metal panels.

Had my new 2024 Everglades scratched by the dealer while they were installing the tow kit on it. They ended up repainting the panel that was scratched but it seems like the color doesn't match. Am I being too picky or should I take it back to the dealer for them to correct it.

Way off, I would take it back for sure.

I almost did the azure grey paint but seeing how hard tri coat is to match glad I went with EG. Sorry OP that sucks.

This. I saw the first pic and thought "yup that's off" before realizing that was the "before" pic.
