Torx plus bolts can problematic and prone to striping. I want to replace them. Anyone know what size and thread pitch they are?

TP40 seems to be the general consensus.

Can you take a screw out yourself and measure with a digital caliper? If you don't have your Bronco yet I could do that real quick and post the measurements.

Ya I was thinking of those thread size placards at Home Depot and Lowes that hang off aisle racks. Seems like you'd need a full thread pitch gauge set tool to check at home and how many people actually own one of those?

The bumper bolts like the Bronco bolts are IP, TP or Torx Plus, not regular torx!

I bought a set of torx plus sockets at harbor freight so I have all the sizes possible. I use them to figure out what size the bolts are.

I have NOT replaced the bolt yet. I am getting ready to install a light bar so I will replace the bolts when I am installing the light bar.

I found these 2 options to replace the bolts but have not decided on which one to buy:

1 >> https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001T6JM30/ref=ox_sc_saved_image_1?smid=A32WN1A2ABQ137&psc=1

2 >> https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BN1NBHZK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Thank you for taking the time to complete the circle! So did you end up replacing the stock bolts and how did it go?

Are you sure you want either of those bolt options?
