Ford will still get the cash for those. The rail company has insurance. Ford should make out better on those than selling them through the dealer. The only thing affected will be the "sales numbers". They will get all the money and do not have to share it with the dealer. Not sure how they will be paid though. Typically you get Actual Cash Value for a vehicle that is totaled. That may not apply here. ACV on a brand new vehicle may be more than sticker price.I have no special insight into Ford but.... if I were a C-Level Ford person, I'd want to get the revenue I projected for next quarter fixed ASAP. Therefor, start pulling 1/2 and 3/4 built trucks that are sold OUT to get the cash IN.
