Must be why they got rid of the 8". I mean, aside from Jeep coming out with a big screen...
Yeah of course I’m just kidding but all seriousness I actually prefer a screen that doesn’t light up the interior at night. I know brightness is adjustable but I’ve been used to small screens for so long they don’t bother me in the least. Now let me get back to my Commodore 64

My screen is fine but suddenly I have no network connectivity. Navigation is offline (I have built in until July 2025). Ford Pass is not updating. Remote start not working. Hoping it is just an update issue that will get resolved overnight with a fix when it's connected to wifi.

There is a spot on Sync that will show you the latest update installed - I can’t recall exactly where off hand. Somewhere in the Settings stuff if you dig around a bit

Ford Pass will supposedly do that too, but mine only shows an update from before I purchased the vehicle.

I found the screen in settings with the option for Automatic Updates but it won’t let me turn them off. Not sure why. I tried several times.

Mine has done the same from time to time. Then goes black the lite blue and
reads “ Bronco Saved” then resets itself then starts working as normal.

Once, my screen started freaking out and doing that black thing. Just out of blue with no reason. I tried restarting the Bronco doing a few things and it finally kind of seemed to come back.

Got to the store, shut it off. When I got back in, it acted funny but this time I just left it...on the way home a "thanks for updating" message popped up! Ford decided to ignore my setting of not doing updates and push one down on me.

Good thing it didn't brick the whole damn thing when I was turning it on and off the first time.

The screen goes into dark them when it gets dark (or you put a hat over the daylight sensor).

I think you can even choose the dark theme as a static option.

Well I was finally able to turn off auto updates. I was at a full stop in D with my foot on the brake. Not sure it wouldn’t work sitting in my driveway in P. Maybe I just need my foot on the brake?

Anyway I’d rather know what update is going to be installed and then watch for adverse effects.

wonder if you can back updates out?

My 8" screen started blacking out intermittently when it was 2 months old in August.
It's been constantly black since early November. Dealer has had an APIM module on order for 7 weeks now.... still waiting. At least the stereo still works.

No blackouts for me but carplay has crashed on a regular basis for the last year and a half. I’ve searched for threads on this but surprisingly haven’t found any when I’ve looked.

Ive been testing a theory all week with 98% consistency. (By 98%, I mean all but 1x). When the audio source is my phone when I turn off my vehicle, I’ve had a black screen at restart all but 1x. I’ve not had a black screen when my audio source is the radio.
