Hey Sac Bronco folks- been a while since I've visited B6G. Poked around the site a bit but couldn't find an answer to this- does anyone know of a local(ish) dealer with an Eruption Green Bronco? I'd love to see it in person... I fear the pictures and videos (much like the first time you see one of these beasts in person) just don't quite do it justice. Appreciate it.

It's certainly a very good question. I don't have a good answer.

It does occur to me that the Bronco may not be the only vehicle in Eruption Green, so even if you cannot find a Bronco in that color, perhaps you can find another vehicle in that color. I think you'll just have to visit Ford dealerships, and ask if thy can show you anything in that color.

It does certainly seem to be true of many of Ford's modern paints, that you really cannot get a good sense at all of how they look, from photographs.

I initially intended to go with Velocity Blue. But then I saw some pictures of Area 51 Broncos, and thought that I might like that color better. As it appears on Ford's web site, Area 51 really doesn't look very appealing to me at all, but some of the other pictures I've seen looked much more appealing to me.

Not until I went to my Ford dealer to order my Bronco did I actually get a chance to see the color in person. To Ford's credit, their own site represents the color better than all the other pictures I've seen, and in person, I find it only slightly less appealing than I did based on how it looks on Ford's site.

The dealer was also able to point out a pickup truck in Velocity Blue, and I have to say that in person, it looks much, much better than any pictures that I have seen of it. There's a certain depth, a certain richness to Velocity Blue that just cannot be captured in a photograph. It was a very easy choice, at that point, to select Velocity Blue as the color for my ordered Bronco.

Now, all that said, I'm not really one who cares that much what color my vehicle is. If the right Bronco came before me, at a really good price, I'd buy it no matter what color.

But my Bronco will have the distinction of being the very first, brand new vehicle that I have ever bought, and probably the only one that I ever will, and thus the only one where I even get to choose the color.

Every other car that I have ever had, and every other car that I likely ever will have, has been used, has ben whatever was available to me at the time, and in whatever color its original owner chose. I did have a 1996 Mercury Mystique, a few cars back, that was in a really beautiful pale metallic blue. I think Ford called it “Moonlight Blue”. If that was an available color for the Bronco, then that is probably the color I would have chosen.

I saw the 4 door you are wanting in eruption green with a hardtop earlier this week. It was parked near the corner of Douglas and Sierra College. Maybe you’ll get lucky and see it driving around.
