Adding radio and antennae so I don't have to keep adding batteries in a hand held before the weekend - will be interesting to see how this goes. Hoping to find a trail that has not been washed away this weekend for some Dirt Therapy.

What radio are you installing? Been looking for a transceiver that can mount easy on the dash.

I got the Midland Micro Mobile - and it fits perfectly in center console - mic mounts to arm on dash - its a tiny unit and seems pretty decent.

I got this thing in and tested it today - install came out super clean - and the radio does work a very good distance - had to test with hand held units as nobody else had a similar radio - but folks could hear me well over 3 miles even in the city - so in open air - I think I will get much better than that.

Thanks for the idea about using the console box to install it. How are you running your antanae wire?

Mounted to drivers side mirror mount next to my light - cabled thru firewall (the rubber breakout is super nice and so easy to get cables into the cab) - under dash to center console - if you have a badlands its super easy - when you get to the console - you will have to drill a small hole to get into the bucket - I moved front seat full forward and did it just behind seat belt - its impossible to see the hole after you put every thing back to normal position - I added a rubber grommet so it actually looks - like it came from the factory that way if you did happen to see it. Power antennae and Mic - all fit in there - and mount my Mic on one of my accessory arms on the dash and lock it in the console when not in use - super secure and looks good too.
