Where are some (simple-ez) trails scenic drives for an older couple just relaxing in rogers. Use (Pepe) 2dr sas in SE KS mainly for hunting/fishing/muddying/snow. Not any trail experience. Just lookin for ideas Don’t hit NW Ark very often and not familiar with local stuff. Any suggestions. šŸ¤”

Not sure how capable you are but Bentonville is a huge biking city. You can rent e-bikes and cruise around there for hours. Also check out Devils Den and Lake Fort Smith. Beyond gorgeous out there! Also check out Crystal Bridges Museum.

Also if you make it down to Fort Smith (The city not the Lake)- they are known for their Viet food. It's worth it if you enjoy that type of food.

One close destination is a scenic drive down an easy gravel road just north of the Arkansas/Missouri border called the Sugar Camp National Forest Scenic Byway in the Mark Twain National Forest.

I actually learned about that looking for nearby trails in Gaia GPS at around 2PM one Sunday afternoon, found the trail, read the description, laced up my boots, and headed out there to explore on a whim. It took about an hour to arrive at the start of the scenic byway, and I returned home by about 6PM. I didnā€˜t post about it in my ride reports thread, because it’s not technically in NWA, but I took some beautiful photos, and it was very close to Bentonville.

Another interesting place to visit if you are interested in American history is the Pea Ridge National Military Park. It’s not an off-road trip, but is nearby, has an interesting museum at the visitor’s center, and you can drive around the outer loop and view the Civil War battleground, with many cannons in place as they were back during the battle.

If you want to actually tackle a relatively easy dual-track trail, but avoid anything too technical, and you don’t want to venture too far from Bentonville, I would recommend you try Warloop Road. There is a map and YouTube video of the trail in my ride reports thread, Bronco Day Trips in Northwest Arkansas, so you can visually pre-run it before you decide to tackle it. After you arrive at the trailhead, it is pretty short (5 miles), but has a middle section that will give you a good climb, may require use of your rear locker, and will give you a taste of off-roading in the Ozarks.

TBH, it’s quite beautiful anywhere on dual-track trails inside the Ozark National Forest. Just be aware that many trails are off the grid (i.e., not within cell tower coverage), so you’ll need to download maps for offline use on your chosen mapping software (e.g., Google Maps, Gaia GPS, OnX) if you want to have usable navigation while on the trails. As soon as you return within cell tower coverage, then normal online mapping will work again.

Hope this helps. Good luck with your exploration. (y)

Great info above. I'll add a nice drive south of Beaver Lake from Rogers to Eureka Springs if you've never been there. It's all highway, but small country roads with scenic views and Eureka is a neat town to visit at least once.

Which concert got canceled?

Here’s a Gaia map by ā€œCruising the Ozarkā€ Gravel in your travel event that I went to last year before I had my Bronco. Easy going event… my wife’s highlander on street tires had no issues. I turned off at 23 half way through though so can’t tell you how the other half is…but the whole route is suppose to be easy gravel roads.

The route does take you to white Rock mountain recreation..which is a pretty nice stop. They may charge for parking so have some cash.
