Final Call for the Ma Bell Trail run, Northampton Sat 04/15 and Sun 04/16
Meet at 10:00 AM at Jim's Variety and Package Store, 15 West Farms Road, Northampton 01062. You can get coffee, snacks, and a sandwich there. We'll see what our count is, who should roll in what order and make a roster. Please take images and videos for posting! If you arrive late and want to catch up, turn left out of the store and drive north 1.8 miles, feeding naturally onto Sylvester Road (the continuation of West Farms Road), where you'll see an unofficial turn-off area on the right, with the trailhead featuring a stretch of (naked) slickrock. That's where we'll air down and start. (Don't worry if you don't have a compressor--others do!)
I was concerned we might get too big a group, but with only 5 or 6 acknowledging for each day so far, we should be able to accommodate a fair number of late comers. If law enforcement shows up, please direct them to the Carbonized Gray 4-Door Sasquatch with the roofrack. I'm retired law enforcement and can best work things out.
Plan on 1-2 hours up, a period of time at the top for lunch and fellowship, and a bit less time coming down. Northampton has loads of pubs and coffee shops for anybody who wants to continue for talk.
The locals are very protective of their landscape, so please be diligent about "treading lightly."
