Between work, kid activities, and trying to get my basement finished, I just haven't been able to get out onto the dirt as much as I want. Last night I had a few hours, so I loaded up the pup, and we headed to Saratoga to run up Israel Canyon to the radio towers. It's a pretty easy drive, but still fun.

I turned off of the main access road just before the towers, and ended up taking the north end of Lake Mtn Communications Road up to the towers. It's a narrow shelf road that had a bit of a pucker factor to it at a few points, but otherwise it was a fun climb. Final push to the towers had some ledges to climb, and the trees were a bit close for comfort. If you decide to do the same climb, I took the pinstripes so you won't have to.

We hung out at the top for a bit taking in the views, then headed back down the mountain. The puppy handled the ride like a champ, so we split a treat at Maverik on the way home. Much-needed ride in the dirt, and while it helped, only made me want to get out on the trails again asap.

I did the same drive last Sunday. But we kept going past the towers and followed the ridge line all the way to the end and came out on the highway. It was very rocky in places and a slow drive. But super cool.

Yeah, definitely want to go back and do some more exploring. Was just limited on time this drive as I had to get home in time to help get the kids to bed for school.

btw - stopped by the bike shop a week or so ago and checked out the Ranger. Nice work! I’ll have to come find you and say hi next time
