This weekend is looking like some pretty ideal weather to get out and stretch the legs.

I am equally open both days as of now minus maybe trying to watch some of the masters.

Thinking about finally doing the through route of Grassy Gap Road to coopers gap and then down winding stair gap exit onto nimblewell gap rd with the option to run down old bucktown if time allows.

MEET HERE : 34°36'35.5"N 84°00'15.1"W

It will be a relatively long ride so probably would look to meet at the trail at 9:30AM and hit it at 10AM. May plan to hit the overhang near camp merrill for lunch as that is sort of middle middle on our trek.

If anyone that subscribes to one of those fancy map services can confirm the trail is open ahead of time that would be pretty sweet.

The SEGen6 group has a ride in Talladega for 600-1 & 600-2 posted for Saturday if that factors into your day choice at all or interests you I can grab the event link.

This is like one of the few weekends I won’t be able to join. I have to head out to Auburn for a lecture with my boss, but I’ll catch you guys on the next ride.

Which day is tricky, but I'll do either. Sat is an afternoon ATL UTD match, but I can miss that. Being home for Masters Sunday is important for sure, so that's a tough one, but I'm itching to get out and into the woods, so either day works.

@MadMan4BamaNATL I'd prefer Saturday myself. Have some loose plans to hit the driving range Sunday then melt into my couch watching the real golfers.

@Rspayde Great, was hoping for Saturday. Trailhead at Grassy? Remember, it's a pull off. Decent size, but there is no signage. I'll look up what I posted last time and put here for anyone who cares to join on this fun little trail. With the link ups, will be a good day of wheeling.

Hey @dpAtlanta and @JF Bronc Either of you guys around this weekend for these trails? @Rspayde I'm looking at Trails Offroad app and it says OPEN. Should be good and with rain from Friday, should be fun!

@MadMan4BamaNATL sorry that I’m late to the party on this. You guys will have fun. Will have to catch up with you for a ride after you do super cel

I am in the same boat as @MadMan4BamaNATL sports wise, but I am PRETTY sure I can make either morning work.

2 things, report of gate closure on 4/6; just reported apperantly for Grassy Gap, so not sure what Sat will look like. Then, 8:45 is far too early for me. 9:30 or 10, sure. lol! Long drive from the city. If gate is closed, driving around to the end of Coopers isn't too far away and we would have linked up with it anyway.

@CH02 You down for a trail run on Saturday morning? Grassy Gap, if open.

Is this a newbie Big Bend friendly trail? I have 32in General Grabbers no lockers. I've done the last two trail rides with the Bronco 6Gen group with out issue.

@MoMoBBen24 I have never done grassy gap but we're on the same tires and suspension so in theory anywhere I get you should get.

Sounds like grassy gap may be closed in that event you'll be 100% fine no issues what so ever.

As has been mentioned we're well equipped to spot, guide, assist and recover as needed!

If I remember right I think I met you on the trip up to printice cooper. I honestly think you should be fine but @MadMan4BamaNATL would be able to know for sure. He knows those trails better than myself. Worse case all the guys have recovery gear and winches, and they should be able to help you get out just fine =).

@TheI3lindMan ok, I'm in. I was going to go to the Talladega ride but they recommend 33s so I figured I should skip it.

@MoMoBBen24 Even with Grassy Gap open, it’s not an “easy” trail, as it’s rated as a 3, so it’s moderate. Any Bronco can make it. What’s important is to go slow and drop into 4L at any point where you think things look interesting. We all carry radios, I have an extra and will guide you through. We aim at having fun, not going YouTube crazy or anything.

Ya Talladega has some gnarly ruts and could prove difficult. Even if the trails up by Nimblewill are rough I doubt they will be that bad. Have a good time and maybe I’ll catch ya on the next ride!

I'm still in Jacksonville..... dammit, I want to attend!

Back to Marietta tomorrow and look forward to joining you folks on the next ride!
