Morning folks! I am looking for some trail recommendations in North Georgia for this Saturday . I have a 24 squatch badlands but I am not looking for anything too technical as I will be with the fam and I will be the only rig. Basically I'm not looking to get recovered. I know about Caches Valley Road which is near the top of this list but was curious about Sarah's Creek as well as Charlies Creek. I haven't done either of these roads but the seem fairly tame although when I was up on the Tocooa fishing earlier in the spring I talked to a bike packer who had just come down Charlies Creek and he didn't recommend it. I'm guessing he just isn't aware of 4x4 capabilities but maybe I am wrong and it has gotten tougher than the trail reports and youtube videos I have watched. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated! This would be my first time on any of these trails.

I am pretty sure I have run Charlie's without issue don't recall anything more than a typical service road.

I'd recommend going up or down Old Bucktown. Pretty straight forward not to much risk of needing recovery.

Will be quite wet Saturday and given all the rain this week be careful and prepared for downed trees ending your day early.

If you do manage to get stuck ping me as I'm around an hour to that area and may have some folks around the closer willing to help.

@Rspayde Thanks for the tips and offer. I wish y'all would send some of that rain down here to Walton County! I will keep an eye on the weather for sure.

Bucktown is good. Nimblewill is also good, but a little more than a scenic ride. If you want gravel roads and scenic, Noontootla or Springer Mountain up on the Chatahoochie National Forest is good. Or if you venture into Cohutta Wildnerness up in Cherokee National Forest, thats also a nice ride. Cohuttta has some clearings too, so you can get a nice mountain top view for pics of your ride & give the family something to "oooh" and "ahhhh" over.

@RustysBronco Cohutta was also on my short list if the weather is super wet. I have done a ton of backpacking and camping and it seems the roads are endless. Lunch with the fam at Lake Conasuaga would be a good option too.

With those trails, using OnX Offroad is a good bet. Just make sure you pre-download all your maps. The app will work in Android Auto/CarPlay and you can even do turn by turn navigation.

I ran Charlie's Creek (east to west) and Sarah's Creek last week with my family and they were both fine. I could see a good rain making Charlie's a bit more difficult, but not much. If you go to Sarah's, may as well go to Earl's Ford and there are several more forest roads just to the east off of Hale Ridge Rd.
