Windrock Broncos

I'm headed up from Georgia for my "Off-Roadeo" in TN on 8/23. On 8/24 I'll be going to Windrock. My wheelin' buddy backed out of the trip so I'm looking for people to ride with.

I doubt I can but I will see. What time what trails? put it on the event page.

@Valhalla I'm staying nearby in an Airbnb. I have all day - leaving Monday. What trails? Never been. Was going to ask the front desk or research some moderate trails on youtube or ask here for advice. I'm guessing advice would change from if I was solo to if someone was riding with.

Check out trail 2 trail 4. Go see the windmills.. what tire, size , gear , lockers, and winch/recovery gear is the determining factor beyond that.

Got lockers and factory skids (bash, engine, transfer, fuel) + aftermarket transmission.

Do 11 and 22, if it's dry do panther rock, I think it's 52.

Of course get a map or pay for the app and map a route

Maybe go up 22, do 4, hit 11, do 88, do panther rock

Or go up 2, go to 11, 88, panther rock, back down to 4, come out 22.

If you were going Saturday I’d be up, but you’ll enjoy the Offroadeo. If you’re going solo, I second some of what Steve says. A good, easy to moderate route I do often is go up 2, over to 4, then right over to 19. If it’s a nice day from here go up to the overlook and enjoy the view. If you still want more go over and hit 83 and come back out 5. All of these (as of a couple weeks ago were not bad with the exception of a couple mud holes on 19) but even those weren’t bad.

@865Bronco I think you would be, if you had a spare rig, and time/money to fix what was broken. I just don't weigh the costs as readily as you! makes you the smarter man!

@Valhalla we’ve got five vehicles for the three of us, I just can’t bring myself to hurt the Bronco. It is the newest and most dependable of the five (other than the F150 which is at 160k)

Looks like it will be a rain and mud fest. That's my luck!

It will keep it from being hot and dusty, Windrock holds water, so you always see some mud. The runs that are listed will still be fun and fine... if it is raining I wouldn't go to panther rock as it is twisty between trees and steep.

I take that back, I would almost definitely go but sane people don't.

I did 2 and 4 on Friday coming in. Took another day off to beat the rain. None today at the Off Roadeo too. A great experience.

Sorry I couldn't make it out. Did you get any pictures? If you did do a trip post on the general. Were those trails enough, or to easy? I'll be trying to put a ride together soon.

@Valhalla Those trails were great solo. And the G roads keep a stock vehicle that you have to drive home on your toes too. G9 to the look out was brutal, just non stop rocks. I wanted to do 26 and 27 but didnt have anyone to go with. Some guy said I could do 26 but when I got to the series of ledges at the beginning I decided against it. Could i have? Probably. But alone and new at this? Best I turn around
