RESERVATION CONVERSION TALK: So, made my conversion in Atlanta at Jim Ellis Ford in Sandy Springs. This used to be Nalley who I chose originally, but had no issue with Ellis purchasing Nalley Ford. There was no SWAG, but didn't really care much about that.
Process went smooth and worked with Salesperson Dennis E, and Kevin J, Sales Manager. Dennis was very straightforward, let me know what to expect when the build is processed to begin. From there, I'll go back to finalize the terms. Some fees were yet to be assigned. I got the winch and rack in my order and those are dealer installed; which we knew here. The cost of those installations is up in the air as of now. This may give a little heartburn, but this is an area where dealership reputation becomes even more important. Big dealership groups like Jim Ellis likely won't risk reputation fighting over gouging you on such fees, etc. Not dragging smaller dealerships, but making a general statement. They'll all get some profit somewhere which is expected on an ordered, high demand vehicle to some extent.
Anyway, once you put your $1000 down to place order, get a written receipt and discuss how they'll update order submittal. Doesn't matter when you walk in before the deadline in March, as your time stamp of reservation is what matters, so don't feel rushed. Sales Manager shared they are likely to convert 60% and that the amount of competing vehicles sold in area has an impact on how many vehicle orders Ford allocates to a specific store. The Atlanta Metro is heavy Wrangler territory, so Ford will look to make a splash here. This may give my build a shot at being a 2021 since it is a pretty damn loaded 2dr, 2.7, Badsquatch, winch, rack, Lux, etc. Maybe this is BS, but we shall see.
Hope this update helps a little.
