Hello my local Natural state residents!
Hope you all are loving your rigs and enjoying these cool breeze days that we have been having lately.

My question is that I'm looking to find someone who is selling the Outer Banks color matched wheel flares in carbonized gray. I had a really weird issue happen to my Badlands and I believe it was not due to my careless behavior but due to many high pressure car washes. My driver's side flare has split, which i didn't know was possible. The car wash business won't cover it and even tho I have the extended warranty, my dealer won't cover it. So I'm looking to see options before having to the insurance route.

If you examine the areas highlighted inside the red circles in the modified photo below, it looks like the thermal welds that connect the inner and outer pieces of the flare failed, possibly after being bumped by the car wash machinery. Judging by how clean some of the spots in the circles are, some of the attachment points may have never even formed a bond at the factory.

I bet you can fix it yourself with a little patience, DIY cleaning, and JB Weld or epoxy.

First, you need to detach the inner piece of the fender flare from the aluminum fender by turning the 1/4-turn, quick disconnects and then pop the inner piece off of the fender so you can work on it. Then clean everything on both parts well with soap and water to remove the dirt and mud from the thermal weld attachment points. Then scuff the material with abrasives (e.g., course sandpaper, Scotch-Brite pad) and clean with isopropyl alcohol before applying your chosen adhesive and clamping everything together with small clamps available at any local hardware store.

With all of those attachment points, after the epoxy dries, you should be able to reattach the fender flare and never even notice it separated.

Below are a couple of photos of the thermal welds on one of my fender flares for closer reference.
