They let me take it out for an hour yesterday. No off-road, but I got some highway, some urban, some suburban. My biggest takeaway was that it’s much more livable in traffic and on the highway than I was expecting. Though, if you plan on lots of highway time, the soft top does get loud. Not deafening like an old Wrangler, but loud enough to make it hard to have a conversation with rear seat passengers at 75mph.
I’ve been planning for our Black Diamond to be our family adventure-mobile, but not the vehicle we put the whole family in for long highway road trips, which we take often to see family and friends. I was wrong. This thing can absolutely be both, comfortably enough that my family won’t complain.
Also, the fleet manager grumbled that they can’t sell it for six months, but I didn’t probe further so take that as an offhand comment.
