Stupid question as I can easily look it up, but much more fun posting here and seeing replies….does the Bronco run in 4 wheel drive all the time or do we have the option to engage it when needed?

Both! Lemme explain. All Broncos have selectable 4Hi and 4 Low, but by default operate in 2 High using a front engine and rear wheel drive.

If you got Sasquatch (and maybe as a standalone option) you also get 4 Auto, where the truck determines what kind of drive it wants (2vs4).

No sas or fancy options here. Got me a very bare bones Big Bend.

@adk749 the 4 auto was the only option on my black diamond, was an accidental add on while trying to order at the dealership and I decided to keep it and see if it helps

I like that you can shut off the 4 auto too if you want. I won't use it in the summer or on clear days but it is a nice option for days like yesterday where it was on and off snow all day.

I was curious, as I "assumed" the Badlands has this, but wasn't sure. I checked the original PDF they used to have on the Ford site which summarized all the features of each trim (I have had trouble finding this, and was going to post an image from a copy I've kept, but I guess the "group" model only allows photos in the original post?), and it shows that Badlands, Wildtrak, and First Edition all come standard with "Advanced 4x4 Automatic On Demand Engagement," whereas it's optional on the rest. It shows up on your order record and window sticker as "Advanced 4x4," I believe. I wasn't sure what that meant off-hand, as I didn't select it -- now I know! Learned something new today. :) My friend was just telling me how much he enjoys the feature on his WK2 Grand Cherokee for the exact same reason as Kimberly said, and said it's a shame his wife's JK Wrangler doesn't have it. I "assumed" I would have picked such a thing, as I remember playing with 4A at the Off Roadeo... Now I know I've got it! :-D
