Sales guy from Wade Ford contacted me today about a Badlands they have on the lot, which has about 90% of the features on my reservation. Got excited, figured I'd look - after a bunch of pics and the sticker .... which is $55K .... finally gets around to his asking price..............$76K So over this BS

Sleazy dealerships are one thing, but the fact that some guy is going to pay for that crap; maybe even a member of the forum, that’s what gets my pressure up. It is BS and I’m with you. Thanks for calling out Wade Ford.

I was at the dealership chatting with a buddy that was ordering a Bronco sport, telling him about Ford pass points. A gal there butted in to tell me I should be eligible to get the 200,000 points or whatever it is from my dealership. Just being nice, trying to help me get points. I gave her a brief recap of my ordeal to get my bronco, which was a dealership in California. Without even thinking I said something along the lines of 'it was a nightmare, they were totally slimey and tried to hit me with markups.' Didn't even think to see if they were doing ADM nonsense šŸ˜„ She sort of awkwardly shrugged it off and that was that

People stop putting up with the crap and paying ADM, it’ll go away for us all. However, people are selfish and trendy and there is no solidarity or community these days, anywhere or at all. This is sad and we all suffer as result.

With the huge shortage in cars, people are paying stupid money just to get their hands on a new car. Look at the housing market. Just as bad.

A home is an asset that appreciates. A car is a tool that decreases in value the more you use it; not the same at all. Supply and demand is one thing, but there will be thousands of people in debt and underwater in these vehicle purchases in the next 3-5 years. With your home, the longer you own it the more it should be worth, notwithstanding what type and location. New vehicles are not nearly as valuable as what people are willing to pay. A Bronco that isn’t a Raptor is in no way worth $70K when the sticker is in the $50’s. @ChompSticks

Oh yes that’s true. The past two years cars have appreciated though! šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ Thankfully I’m in a position where I do not need to buy a car.
It just sucks for people needing something immediately. They are going to have to sacrifice something to get a decent deal on a car.
There will be a lot of folks underwater in a few years.

Think a lot of folks who lease have been hit the hardest since they needed a car during the past two years. In fact, leasing offers protection from the ADM issues, as I’m not sure that Ford Finance will pay. If you qualify for Ford Credit, not sure how a dealership can stop you and make you pay ADM when your financier is Ford itself. For everyone else, two years is a long time to wait on a new ride, so it pains me to watch people get taken advantage of; it just ain’t right. @ChompSticks

The value of any item is what someone's willing to pay for it. In this market that makes any vehicle thats selling for above MSRP worth it. Now once the market drops the people that paid 10-30k over MSRP might be in a world of hurt but in my experience the people paying that much have the money and means to do and don't really care.

@DREWR13 Totally agree - it's just overly frustrating for order/reservation holders who have been patient with the process, as screwed up as it is, to see ppl it happen.
That and the fact new orders as recently as Nov are getting built already continues to be disappointing

@4Runfun Oh I completely agree. I had a feeling Ford would botch this release. Just didn't think it would be THIS bad.
