I wish I could say yes, but I am still waiting for my Bronco.

No Bronco yet, but I did it a couple times in my old rig a long time ago. Pretty sure I saw a thread from somebody who went, might be in the main forum. And of course there's video of Loren Healy and his Fun Haver Bronco.

@Sewie I saw that rig but Loren did some modifications. I was wondering if anyone has done it with a stock Squatch.

@Carbnight I went through in a H3 that was stock except for 35" tires. Takes a bit longer, requires more care and rock stacking, but doable. Badsquatch is more capable than my H3 was - front locker, disconnects, better suspension so should be fine.

Not in the 21, but I was up there a few weeks ago with the 68. I think there are still a few spots that would be tough for the 4 doors unless you’re on 37s..

@RandallLG I’m wondering how a stock Badsquatch would do?

@Carbnight I think it would be fine. Big Sluice is going to be the toughest spot I think.

Jim took his 21 badlands up the Rubicon a couple weeks back, but didn't complete it due to timing.

Was Jim’s Bronco stock?

The Rubicon is on my bucket list. Ironically I wonder if my stock JKUR would be able to make it.

Rubicon's also on my list - I have a '22 Badsquatch, stock. @RandallLG do you think the stock armor's good enough? I worry about the factory sliders that are merely attached to the pinchwelds. If anyone's ready to tackle the Rubicon in a few months' time, let me know.

@RandallLG It'd be great if we could get a few rigs together for the Rubicon, but maybe later in the year? I gotta accumulate more vacation days first. How many days would you think such a trip might need.. 3 days wheeling and 2 more to head out and back? How about Thanksgiving weekend? Weather would be cooler as well :). This would be the one trip to put my tube doors on. (y)

@WheelMe I’d be down for a November trip, but we’d have to keep an eye on wildfires. Seems like there have been more and more trail closures around the end of the season. In terms of timing, we could make it two long days or three shorter days.

@RandallLG Sounds good; hopefully by then I'll have my winch installed.

Was this someone from here? Curious to hear what happened.

EDIT: guess FB post isn't public. Two Broncos broken down/stuck on Cadillac Hill this weekend. 4 door and 2 door.

Bring a couple of spares and some tools!

Before we head out, my business partner and I are gonna practice pulling the CV out at the shop so we’re better prepared.

Also got spare inners and outer tie rods. I wanted to do the tie rod sleeves but was too scared I might put stress on another part. I’m open to the idea tho and explain why it will work well

We’re using this trip to see if we can avoid blowing things up if we’re smart and careful. If we do, we’ll want to understand why

@Love Shop Auto Lo Please update on the ease of pulling/reinstalling CV - I've done it on a Nissan Frontier, but don't know if the Bronco's any harder. Will be bringing a spare or two, also tie-rod ends. What are the options out there for beefed-up tie rod ends, by the way? Factory Raptor version?

I’ve done it twice this year in my 4 door Badlands Sasquatch. First trip was with 1inch lift on coil overs and stock Goodyears. It definitely give your skid plates a good work out.

@SS Bronco Were you running stock skid plates/sliders? I guess they're good enough for the Con - that'll save me some money not having to upgrade. I have a stock Badsquatch with no lift; hopefully I can make it through.

I had stock skids the first trip they held up fine. Never hit my rock rail, but the V6 cross members hung up a lot. Second trip added the LOD off road transmission skid plate which covered those and it slid over things much better. It’s takes some getting use to how much the under side drags on obstacles compared to my 70 Bronco.
