Would anyone be interested in a trail run somewhere around LA area this weekend (2/18 or 2/19)? Finally got my winch, air compressor, traction boards and GMRS - and am itching to try out all the gear!

What exactly did you have in mind? Location? Trails?

Honestly, flexible. I'm pretty new to this. Had my eye on some of the trails up near Santa Clarita (eg Rowher, Del Sur Ridge). Any thoughts?

@Ryslegit Thanks! I have a Base Bronco on 33s with the other gear - and not tons of trail experience, so maybe not that one to start, or at least not by myself!

@vancomycin Theres easy routes through Rowher too. Look at All Trails. I took a route through there in December and it was straightforward. I can't recall the name, but it runs from the first staging area to an area near the reservoir north of there.

We went through Rower Flats last weekend, my Badsquatch and my son's Tacoma. It's behind Agua Dulce, wide open with some cool rock areas. Also a backroad into the Boquet Canyon reservoir.
There are some challenging areas if you want them. You can pick and choose-easy to difficult, so don't rule this area out if you are new to off roading.
Gorman OHV area is also a fun place to play, and to learn skills. Miller Jeep Trail is not for the feint hearted, but a great trail with a couple of water crossings.

@Ryslegit @luntz @805BaseSquatch and everyone - thanks for the recs! Went out to Rowher and was taken in by a Jeep convoy (!!!) who were absolutely lovely and I had a great time there! Was definitely a bit scary by myself as a first-timer, but once I joined the group, it felt much more reasonable doing it with others and an experienced lead car.
