Hi,

A few days ago I acquired a Bronco Wildtrack, it has always caught my attention off-road, I live in Long Beach originally from Baja MX, looking for friends to go out on the road or places to camp and use those big tires. Ha

What's up friends!

Been having trouble finding folks to hit the trails with. I usually have a pretty high risk tolerance so I don't have any issue trying different things by myself but all I hear from everyone is that I need a partner for safety. Obviously I understand that but so far my choices have been go alone or don't go out at all. I'm within range of most of the popular SoCal spots with a day or so notice.

If anyone is ever looking for a trail partner ' for safety' of course lol feel free to reach out.

Happy Wheeling!

@Neps Appreciate the response - really good info. I am still taking it pretty easy because I'm always solo. Will look into the recommended sites as well.

I’m in the same boat. I’d say I’m prepared but lack experience to push it solo. I’d be down for something like Burns Canyon starting in Rimrock and end up in Holcomb Valley area to finish off. Planning on the BBBB but would like to meet up before if possible.

@Shrek27 I was considering hitting up Bronco Knoll early Friday and then exploring from there. I may also be down for the Burns trip too depending on when.

Got work Fridays and looks like another good storm coming in this weekend (also Easter). I should be free at least one day on most weekends and a few Mondays in April though.

@Shrek27 Yeah shoot me a message and we can set something up. My plan was to end in Big Bear so if weather is a big factor I may just skip it this weekend as well.

Hey SoCal owners, I'm new owner of a 2023 2-door Wildtrak. Also new to SoCal area. I'm located in Hermosa Beach. Can anyone recommend an off road specialty shop that could work with me to help add some mods to my Bronco?

What is an easy 2-3 day camping trail in the socal area? I’m not new to camping, but new to trail camping and have only done a few light off road trails.

There are a LOT of options. Do you prefer the mountain or the desert? This time of year, however, can get tricky. You're probably better off in the desert right now. Just watch for flash floods. If you want to go to the desert, there are a lot of places to camp in Anza Borrego, for example. Here's a guide to camping in AB. https://www.outdoorsocal.com/posts/the-complete-guide-to-anza-borrego-camping/ I would pair that with an off-road mapping program, like OnX (www.onX.com) and build yourself a route that lasts the amount of time you want to be out.

I second what Joerg said. There are so many options the possibilities are almost endless. If planning out a route seems to daunting you could do something as simple a camping in Hungry Valley for a few days and hitting trails there, they have the full spectrum of the difficulty range there.

There are so many that one can spend weeks trying to find one ideal… is there a group trek that this group does…. I have done a lot of mono treks but no group ones yet.
Hello everyone,

Just joined the group. Just picked up my Wildtrak today, so I’m looking forward to learning from everyone. Has anyone done the Roadeo? If so, which location, and was it worth it?

I went to Moab. Can’t recommend it enough for both noobs and experienced off-roaders.

I haven't taken advantage of the roadeo yet, but I'm thinking about NV in Sept. Glad to hear that it is worth it.

I did Las Vegas, it was great and I was able to drive there, do it and drive home to South OC in one day. I don't recommend that for the faint of heart, I was going to dry camp nearby. But during the dinner part of the event, I figured that if I stayed for the fun, music and fellow Bronco owners by the campfire, and then went out to find a spot, by the time I actually laid down to sleep I'd be almost home if I left then and I could sleep in my own bed. Traffic on a Saturday night going to SoCal was moving fast and I was home in no time.

LV is on private property and it's a great site, Moab is on public lands and a great way to experience Moab, but I would make that a week long trip and wheel Moab and visit the NP if doing that one; make it a vacation. Did it for last year's safari and it's 800 miles each way. In a Bronco you can choose MPG or time, it's posted 80 MPH in Utah, so your choice is to burn more fuel and go 80 (all or most of the way), burning an extra tank of fuel but with proper timing can save two hours ... Or more if you avoid Sunday traffic from LV to SoCal. Or, keep it between 65 & the low 70s, maybe middle 70s and save a tank of fuel at a two hour plus time expense.

Who will be at King of the Hammers this year?
A friend and I will be brining our Broncos and tent camping with Bronco Nation. I camped with BN last year and really enjoyed their set up, it's nice this year that tickets are included.

Looking forward to a fun trip!

Hey there. Anyone have black front tow hooks that is interested in swapping for red ones? I bought the red ford performance ones and they are just the wrong color against my HPR. They are a direct fit for the mod bumper.

So I finally did it, I installed the sway bar disconnect on my Wildtrak. It works perfectly on switch 6. But now I have a question for the Badlands owners out there. I'm trying to figure out how the wiring is routed. With the center shaft in one direction and the exhaust in the other, I'm curious which route Ford went and the service manual picture aren't helping me. Anyone local want to let me take a look at theirs? Oh, and I have a stock Wildtrak sway bar if anyone is interested. Should fit on any model except Raptor...

Quick photos from local scouting runs within 2 hours away from LACO. I have chosen these areas with an emphasis on daytrips with no technical rock crawling. There's so much available.

I ended up taking Palomar Divide road (9S07) up to the firetower. As of yesterday there is a little bit of snow at the top! Then I took North Palomar Divide Road (8S07) back down the mountain. North Palomar Divide road was a lot more fun and technical with optional sections to test your rig.

good morning folks,

it's about time for an oil change & looking for any recommendations you might have for a dealership. I've seen the conversations of doing it yourself vs getting it done at a local dealership for the track record in case anything were to happen. I'm in redlands, but I'm willing to drive out if it means getting it done right. had my fair share of people within the service department that really don't care and it shows.

While I am not a fan of the Fritts Ford sales team, their service desk (Terry specifically) has been wonderful. Normally I do my own work, but had them do an oil change and used my For Pass points to cover it. They had to do a warranty repair on some plastics, so I had them do it at the same time.

just curious, what plastic repair did you get done? the edges on my front dash look like it’s already peeling
josh1121
josh1121
The rear wiper motor cover was smashed on and broken and the driver's side roof lever cover, same deal. These were just replacement pieces, not fixes. That sucks that the dash is peeling. I would assume that a replacement is in order.

Hi all! Just picked this up yesterday! Went out of state to get it and saved a lot, no markup for it being a hardtop, no market adjustment fee either! I'm in Riverside, Orangecrest area. Driving it home from Vegas tomorrow.

Did anyone pay attention to transit time from MAP?

My July 2020 reservation finally got built and shipped this week, so I'm now anxiously trying to figure out when it may get here.

About a month from built to dealer for me. Depends on timing of the full load at MAP and transport truck at the end. Can kick around the rail yards for a week or so on either end. The trip to SoCal is about a week.

My first Bronco, a 2021 Badlands, shipped 12/6/2021 and arrived in SoCal on 1/2/2022. Then it sat there for 2 days before it got delivered to my dealer in Ontario on 1/4/2022. There was a week or so in the middle of that when it was in Wyoming and didn't move at all due to the holidays, but I'd guess you're looking at 3 to 4 weeks.

It's hard to pick a favorite. I love the trails in Big Bear. There are some fun ones near where I live in Santa Clarita. If you're old school, Miller Jeep Trail up near Gorman is iconic.

Sorry for the short notice. I'm going to lead a run up here in North LA County. We will hit Leona Divide and Tule Divide, and then stop at the rock Inn for beverages and Bronco bonding. :) I've posted an even here, as well as that other forum. Note the link to the form you need to fill out with your emergency contact info, etc. I'm limiting the run to the first 15 folks to fill out the form.

Good morning folks!

I got my OBX about 6 weeks ago and absolutely love it. Great out of the box with lots of projects available, both big and small.

So I was curious if anyone had suggestions on a reputable shop in The SoCal, IE area?

Id like to get a lightbar installed. I have the aux switches and just get nervous dealing with wiring and drilling the hole for the wire.

Thank you for you time and I look forward with crossing paths will fellow members.

Where are you placing the light bar?

You're in the IE, but where?

https://www.jbmoffroad.com/

Located in Corona, I got my sliders from Zroadz:

https://zroadz.com/c-everything.5.h...2||make=FORD||model=BRONCO||submodel=WILDTRAK

Both companies are in the same building.

Note: Zroadz, used my Bronco for finial fitment on the sliders, so I wasn't a retail customer. But they were great to work with and I've been in the shop and it all was good and looked good too. Very happy with my Zroadz sliders, way better than the first pair I had on, beefier.

My light bar is mounted to my Bull Bar, and wiring it to the aux switches was easy, same for the A-pillar lights (no drilling) and the fog lights in the Mod-bumper. We can help you with that kind of install.
Porthos06

Thanks for the response.

I currently live in Ontario but used to work in Corona so Im familiar with the area.

My current plan is to mount an RCI roof rack with a lightbar attached to the rack.

https://rcimetalworks.com/product/2-door-full-length-roof-rack-21-present-bronco/

The info Ive found to wire up the lightbar with the Aux switches seems relatively straight forward as does the rack install.

I was contemplating having the whole thing done by a shop as it will make my wife feel better. Drilling holes in the new car doesnt really excite her. The other option is to have the lightbar installed and then put the rack on myself when it comes in.

Thanks again for the time.

Hello everyone. I’ve been converted to a Bronco guy a few weeks ago. I used to own a jeep and was in love with it. Had to sell it for personal reasons. Finally got back in the market for an off road vehicle when I came across the bronco I ended up getting. Fell in love with it so far. Now looking to meet others in the same community.
