DFW Bronco Club

This Club is for Bronco Owners in and around the DFW area. Texas is a big place and localized groups can help pin point activities and trades.

Got my 2023 2 Door Badlands Sasquatch two weeks ago today. Looking forward to seeing what we can get into!

Nice looking ride! I wish this group was more active...I think I've been on here for a couple of months and only seen like 3 posts come through.

@los7883 That's partially my fault, because I didn't want to deal with some choice people. Some NTBC members were pretty hostile to me when I started this club. Apparently, there wasn't enough room on the forums for both clubs. I received literal death threats in my dms from a (now banned, but apparently not because of death threats) idiot just because "wE aLrEaDy HaVe A cLuB fOr NoRtH tExAs".

And with all the trolling that goes on around here on the forums, I just decided this group of people weren't worth the time. So, I've been doing meet-ups with FB groups and Bronco Nation groups and it's been a lot more fun and rewarding.

But, if you feel like you want to do something feel free to post, I've left the group open for those that want to try.

@R.A.N.M.J. Damn it really got that bad? Like why do they care if there’s another group on here? Sheeze. Like I think its better if we have a DFW club because not all of us live way out there so it’d be easier to hook up with a group super close to home. LIke hell if i wanted to do some trail riding I wouldn’t know the first place to go…kinda sucks but I guess I have to try too…idk.

@los7883 Yeah, no worries.

Couple of places you might check out are Northwest OHV in Bridgeport, depending on where you live in Dallas it's not that far. But it's only open on the weekends. Lonestar OHV is temporarily closed, but from what I've been told the new location is promising. Just wish I knew where it was.

Barnwell Mountain is a good area. That's in Gilmer, TX. So about 2.5 hours of driving out of Dallas proper.

If you're on the FW side of Dallas you might check out Hamilton Lake. I haven't been, but a it's been suggested to me a lot.

Another one I haven't been to, but has been suggested is Gator Run Offroad Park out near Easton. I'm not sure if it's ATV/Bikes only or if you can take your full-sized vehicle out there. Might be worth checking out, either way.

Hell I don’t know the first thing about off-roading so it’d be nice to hook up with a group that can show us how to do it properly. I’m not talking about crazy rock crawling or anything, just basic stuff.

Did you get a chance to go to the Off Rodeo? That was my first experience and these trucks can do a LOT more than I was anticipating.

@userdude go ahead and book it. then choose the first or last truck in the group, that way the guide rides with you the whole time; in my group we had 2 guides, one in the first truck and one in the last truck. my group had about 10 trucks and i chose the last one in the line so i could watch people and not have to wait for others to finish the obstacle.

I haven’t yet. I really need to though, I’ve heard the same too about all the capabilities they show you with the truck.

@los7883 The Off-Roadeo is totally worth it! My wife and I went the second week of July 2021. It was pretty amazing. Plus, we bookended the Off-Roadeo with a vacation stay and it was pretty fun. There are some great little areas around there, some nice eateries and beautiful scenic spots.

Asa a matter of fact, I'm trying to figure out how to go again. Haha. :D

@R.A.N.M.J. I initially signed up for it when Ford sent out all the emails but when i went to book they wanted a deposit for the event, and then I’d have to wait till i took deliver to get reimbursed…which my truck was on order for over two years, so I never went through with it. Hell quite a few times i wanted to just cancel my order just because it was taking too long.

@los7883 I'm also at the "just getting started" level. LBJ Grasslands has several light off-roading/overlanding forest roads I've gone out on (also Big Mineral Arm up at Texoma, Collins Rd in Southmayd and Old Sadler Rd if it's still open). Nothing too technical if it's not too sloppy. We should figure out a good day to go out, figure out where, and let others know.
